Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Don't think we would need to move Liddle on. Do what they have been doing are share the game time.
That way you get 40 minutes of the best from each.

Structure the control to be out of dummy half takes pressure of brooks and the 6 as well.

The aboriginal grape vine , he is still trying to go to souths

Wasn't he after the fullback job (and money)?

No, that's not entirely correct.

He will happily play wing at Souths. And everyone asking how that would be possible obviously hasn't been around the game for long.

LM was supposed to be almost impossible for Souths.

Just keep saying it, it may become funny if you say it 1000 times.

JAC won't be able to go to South's. Latrell, walker, reynolds, johnson in the backline alone. 3 of them would take up 2 mill a year easily.

South's are lacking front rowers. No point buying another winger.

Add James Roberts, Gagai, Campbell Graham - Arrow also comes in next season - they might have to have another medical retirement!

True, some of those players won't be able to make the starting backline at souths already without adding JAC, who like AJ is a left winger, 1-Mitchell, 2- AJ, 3 -Roberts, 4-Campbell Gillard, 5-Gagai, then you have Burns, Allan, Paulo, Marsters.

Bulldogs board sacking: The Laundy Group threatens to pull sponsorship

Canterbury has plunged further into chaos with the club’s major sponsor – The Laundy Group – threatening to abandon the Bulldogs over the latest boardroom debacle.

The Bulldogs’ major sponsor – The Laundy Group – has threatened to withdraw its $2 million of funding to the club in the wake of a boardroom brawl that threatens to bring down three directors.

Chair Lynne Anderson, John Ballesty and Paul Dunn are on the verge of standing down from the board to prevent an extraordinary general meeting to remove them.

News Corp understands they will resign in coming days.

The trio were swept into power on a reform ticket in 2018, replacing former chairman Ray Dib and others, but have been unable to turn around the Bulldogs’ fortunes.

Former politician Craig Laundy says his family could abandon the club.

“We have the ability to walk away,” he said, “We need to have confidence in the people running the club.

“We agreed to be involved and sign on in good faith with the board as it is currently configured.

“If there were to be changes at board level, we’d need to know those people on the new board would share our vision for the club.”

Dunn was only recently appointed as chairman of the Canterbury Leagues club, a position he will now have to relinquish if he steps down.

Canterbury Bulldogs sponsor launch with chief executive Andrew Hill at the Twin Willows Hotel, Bass Hill. Andrew holds the new Bulldogs jersey with Laundy Hotels owner Arthur Laundy.

The three board members have come to the realisation that they lack the support to survive.

Ballesty has come under fire in recent days over his role in the Laundy sponsorship and his failure to disclose his business interests in one of the family’s hotels.

Their likely departure leaves Peter Mortimer, Joe Thomas, John Khoury and Adrian Turner as the surviving directors at the embattled club.

They will now turn to the membership to replace the three departing directors.

I can’t say that i am a fan of Huth , when was the last time he made a line break , or anytime for that matter , he is big enough to pull a bull out of the crap but don’t play anything like that

When was the last time any of our middle forwards made a line break outside of Aloiai?

McIntyre for a try off the bench in the middle

Heard anything on his re-signing?

No signing yet. They are offering peanuts at this stage
Less money than this year and he is only just above minimum wage at the moment .
So hopefully they can get something sorted because there are a couple of clubs keen as!

Who are the other Clubs..

Sam may be better off..

There are a couple of clubs in the finals keen, but also a few down the bottom end really keen.
So go to a top end team and maybe just be a fill in or go lower and be a mainstay and improve from there!
But like I have said he wants to stay loves the boys and really rates Madge , that's a main reason why he wants to stay.

“I don’t want to say too much about what went on, but the Tigers deal was not as high as other clubs.”

Cannot recall another player talking crap like this.

Well, I imagine the discussions with the Tigers would have been done by his manager, not the player. So, who knows what the manager told him the offer from the Tigers was? He may well be stating the truth as told to him by his manager.

And, lets face it, apart from Kent, Hooper, Rothfield, Ikin and the so-called "journos" of NRL, there is no bigger blight on the game than player managers.

Nothing wrong with Ikin, Kent, Hooper, Toovey and Benji on 360. The dribblers on 9 are getting money under false pretences.

Toovey and Benji have some credibilty through their on-field careers and achievements. I don't have issues with them.

It's the professional NRL-nuffie "journalists" such as Kent and Rothfield and Hooper, who seem more intent on wanting us to believe "I know better than the others", that I despise. With a passion. Add Michael Chammas and his cringeworthy support for Benji and ongoing bagging of WT to that list as well.

Collectivey, I see them as a scourge on the best interests and future of the game, in my opinion.

As for the Ch 9 mob .....? I haven't watched any of their NRL coverage or shows in about the last 5 years so I can't comment. No matter how keen I am for a footy fix, if Ch 9 is the only option, I go without. So I don't watch the GF or SOO. Couldn't care less.

Kent did actually play - he also played 1 game in first grade, something most of us on here have never done.

Well that entitles him to be a smarmy opportunist then, doesn't it? I think if you search far enough Rothfield played in park footy in 1948. So what?? How does one game of first grade give Kent or any other of those nuffies any authority or credibility to earn income in offering their thoughts on the game?

So what is your cutoff on being able to comment on the game?

There's a difference in being PAID to "report factually" on the game (as in "journalists" such as Kent and his mob), and what we do on here, which is to comment or offer opinion.

That's why I'd actually prefer a trained journalist over a former player any day of the week. I don't care if they have played the game as long as they have an understanding of the game and can actually string a proper sentence together.

I doubt Cam will retire this year. Would’ve announced it by now so he receives a send off. Just a little bit worried that the Storm may force him out the door to make room for Harry after what he said last night

If that were to happen the stink about Benji being forced out will look like a tea party.

The media will act it out as if the Storm are doing the right thing by moving Cam on and giving the young blokes an opportunity. Whereas when we said goodbye to Benji, all we hear is the words “treating club legends poorly”
