Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Clickbait surely - no quotes, no sources. Why do people get excited/ anxious about such baseless fluff?

Suaali is not worth the risk and is very high maintenance,as for the get out clauses he wants in his contract no matter
where he goes he will leave the first time he is unhappy.

A definate no from me

Disagree with you there. He’s a definite player to spend some time and money on.
Signing him would pay us back in spades.
Madge worked with him before and there was no problems with his attitude or his management.
Early days on this one but if we could snare players like him and Schuster I would be happy.

I think I saw he and Madge were away for a week

Are they on a break together with their families? If so that’s a good sign.

Exactly, its an article about nothing. The article specifically says that the Tigers have not made any offer or approach, but some here are anxious that Pascoe is away?

Having said that, if that article is correct and the Souffs offer is $1.9M over 4 years, that seems cheap. Any decent FB is going to cost you $500K pa and there is a lot of potential upside with this one. Problem IMO it seems that the minute you get value out of him, he will be wanting more.

100% agree with what the narrator has to say at the end in regards to the media/public putting so much pressure and expectations on the young prodigies of the future.

Crichton could get offered a good $600-$700k a season if he goes on the market. Yeo could ask for good money too but I doubt he leaves Penrith.

Didn't he resign for 4 years already?

The story said Pamfers have been trying to sign him for the past 8 weeks

He would be crazy to not wait until November and see what offers are on the table. He will probably stay at Penrith but they will probably have to up their offer. In fact all their young guys would be crazy to re sign without testing their market value.

Regarding the Suaalii contract. If he wants a get out clause after each season and his value is only less than $500k per season, then who benefits mostly from that? I’m thinking his manager would be given a free pass to churn him every year? He must think the kid is a real talent?

When he decides to leave after 1 year after we spend big dollars on him explain to me what he has paid back.He wants clauses in his contract allowing him to leave EVERY year of his contract at HIS discretion. He is talented but it would be like playing Russian Roulette with a Derringer

Sorry , as good as they say . The roooters will fine a way to sign him put him on the wing for a couple of years till there ready to off load teddy then move him to fullback .

For me if there was a chance to sign Suaali I would take it as long as its for min of 3 years with no get out clauses in this time. Don't want to spend money developing him to just walk next year.

Going by all reports he is a top line projected talent and looking at his height, speed etc it could turn out to be a game changer for the future. Madge knows him and his family and we don't get opportunities like this very often where they reject the big clubs. Just imagine the media circus if we somehow pulled this off.. (Very unlikely but nice to talk about)

I'd love to get Suaali. Plenty of Penrith players will be available as well. Then there is JAC. We just have to relax a little and see how this all plays out.

Plenty to be positive about.

No thanks to this Suallii joker. Him and his camp are wheeling and dealing and throwing demands like he's already a legend of the game. Don't need people of that ilk at the club, the first part of our eternal rebuild should involve first and foremost people who are dedicated, committed win-at-all-costs competitive beasts, not entitled, demanding egotists who are barely out of nappies. We've had more than our share of them.
People who think that blokes like Suallii would be happy to sign a lifelong deal at a club and see it through to the end have rocks in their head.
Want to see passion, guts and teamwork get our club out of the cellar, not hope and pray for some flighty, demanding, self-indulgent jerks to miraculously do it. We will still be standing in the place we are currently if that's the case.

If we can beat out union, I think we'll get him. Loves Madge. Don't know how much it will take though, but worth it. Generational player, if he lives up to it.
Reason we cooled on JAC at fb.

I dont really care if this Sualli kid comes to us or not...My main hope is that Madge can transform whatever squad he has next season from being flashy attack, score more than them type to a consistent defensive unit that other teams will start to take notice of...
we really need to have the culture change that Madge so dearly wants so we can be a competative side that threatens to make the finals and not be an also ran as the previous 9 seasons..
It is always good to recruit talented players that will impact a game more than recruit players that MAY have talent...
The game today needs players and coaches who can adapt to the new rules ,therefore constructing a gameplan and structure that must be adhered to so we dont get penalised or lose ground that will be hard to makeup or give the opposition more go forward than is needed..this style needs players that are committed and obviously talented to work hard within the team and for each other, the days of just relying on one individual to think and work for the team alone are long gone,...I honestly think Madge is working his way to making the team a hard working unit that will make finals within the next couple of years...

Eveyone needs to stop believing the media...do you know this kid in real life? How can we sit her and hate the media for putting out fluff pieces on us but then take them as gospel when they are talking down this kid as a no good trouble maker....I for one would love us to snap the fox and grant for 2021 with JS in 2022....our attack with brooks and doueihi established in the halves would be fantastic

It seems working at the club is on a part time basis for this guy .. even the staff are on retirement contracts just like most of the playing roster!

Seasons over can’t talk contracts when should he go on leave?

I don’t care about paying overs for teenagers. This kid is the brightest prospect we’ve seen in a decade. People are already comparing him to Inglis and Folau... lock him up for the long-term. He’s the type of player you wanna build your club around. His build reminds me of Inglis and Turbo combined

It’s called short end of season break mate.
There’s plenty of recruiting staff on deck to carry on with any negotiations,
And if you look in your pocket you’ll find a cell phone. It’s used to talk to people when needed.

The battery must of been dead for the JAC negotiations then !
