Unlikely to get a release as they let their back up no1 go to the Raiders

Honestly I think 3 is a good number. There’s always the risk the development players don’t kick on and then they’re stuck in your top 30 for a season. Would only sign them if you’re pretty confident they’ll become first graders I reckon

Development players aren't part of the Top 30.

Depends how the contracts are written ..at the end of the development stage they are generally promoted to the NRL squad the following year..

One thing I learn't is a player from outside your system can be on a two year development contract before moving into the top 30..there is also no age limit so mature aged players can be on development contracts

Correct. You don't have to promote the player. I believe the promise of an NRL top 30 spot is how we've been incentivising young players to come here instead of wait in line in their current pathway.

Diane Laurie is a good signing. We should be looking at Angus Chrichton, hard ! Burton , I guess , I’m just not sure we can sell him as the 6 , considering we just signed Laurie , have Doueihi , Reynolds and Walters , brooks and madden . If he falls out of form , there’s a lot waiting in the wings.

Manly have identified Wests Tigers forward Josh Aloiai as a potential replacement for representative prop Addin Fonua-Blake, who suddenly quit the club at season’s end.

Aloiai, who celebrated his 25th birthday on Wednesday, is off-contract at the end of 2021 but is now free to negotiate with rival clubs for 2022.

It is understood the Sea Eagles have started discussions with Aloiai and have him at the top of their list as they look at bolstering their front-row stocks after Fonua-Blake cut his contract short to join the Warriors.
