Brandon Smith may not be the right fit for us. We won't know if we need a hooker until Jake Simpkin has played at least 5-6 games. By then, it will likely be too late to sign Brandon Smith.

Don't think Smith is as good a DH as Liddle - so for me Lock or nothing.

Happens often enough. Jahrome Hughes was the HB this year, hardly a superstar. The Chad was Cronulla's HB 2016. Ben Hornby was half for Saints 2010.

Yea exactly . The roosters won a comp , with a guy running around giving orders whilst holding his shoulder . As long as there’s strike somewhere in the team , wherever , you just need someone to steady the ship , and give the ball to those players when they want it. If that player is your half , well , happy days . But it’s not ? necessary.

We have to have confidence after all this time and committment with Liddle and a young rookie hooker rather then spend big bickies on a player like smith who is willing but hardly a super star. I always wait and save for a makita instead of just buying a orzito and hope it can do the job.

Nothing wrong with ozito, for the price and the warranty you can't beat them, if it breaks they'll give you a new one. They do the job as good as any

Munster and A Chrichton I would say are next to no chance of coming to this club,B Smith and McInnes would be more likely,Give McInnes a decent offer,starts at hooker then goes to lock with either Liddle or Simpkin off the bench in 2022

So confused, are people on here talking about another Liddle ? Surely can’t be talking about the one that’s barely played 10 games in the last 3 seasons. To suggest we’re ok at hooker is ludicrous when our options are glass for knees Liddle, Simpkin who’s yet to play an NRL game (do have high hopes for him) and lastly Mbye and that speaks for itself. Give the cheese what he wants

Yea screams another milking exercise , as they know that he will leave , and they’re trying to get a good replacement without going to market .
Not a priority , especially if he’s just playing 9. The way the storm use him is perfect IMO. If he does play 9 full time , he won’t finish his career there . He will end up in the 13 IMO, like the Dene Halatau’s of the world . Or victor Radley for someone in 2020.
This move to 9 , stuff , shouldn’t be a priority , as he could be a truely elite 13, where as at 9 , he’d be slightly above average IMO.

I think if the deal is OK (and I'm sure it will be) then he could be a good asset for us?

Doueihi is our 5/8.

But he isn't here for R1, if somebody, anybody kills it in the position in R11, I doubt they will be replaced next game, just because AD is back.

I like AD, he is pretty handy, they will find him a spot?

Widdop was very good years ago. We have other options for one game.

Not suggesting it would be Widdop, but think he may be handy if he came at the right deal.

Kei and Gebbie and possibly Tauilagi.

I've said it before, I really admire your push for youth and I do agree, but, we need blokes with the toughness, experience and brains to get us up above the magical line we have strove for, for the last the 10 years.
The kids wont be forgotten.
This is the NRL, the toughest game in the world.



You'll find Gebbie is tougher than most. Kei has impressive genetics and no shortage of toughness.

You are wearing me out Paws, they probably do, but being hit by a FG FR would not be pleasant and they don't have the brains or experience.

You most be joking for Widdop. He's long finished at NRL level.

Scored in almost half the games he played in ESL so must still have some zip, and kicks goals. If he’s fit a team friendly one year deal would be sensible. We all want AD to go well at five eighth but he’s far from proven.

Brandon really seemed to go well at 9 for NZ/Maori All Stars from memory. At Melbourne this year I think he may have overplayed his hand at times @9, but he probably knew he had to impress because the Harry/CS9 situation.

A very good lock no doubt. Hooker he has shown signs of both good and not so good IMO

If he focused solely on 9 he’d be top 5 in the game for sure. He absolutely blitzed aussies in the last test he played

Anyways I’m a fan of just bringing him here and figuring out the rest later. It’s not as if quality players like him are flooding the market
