I still don’t think that JAC is out of the picture, he would complete us.

He will take less $$ to Go to Souths. Its just a formality for 2022.

Yes, he can. Fullback is his position.

Listen I can as well, wouldn't wish that on the Tigers though.

He has not got the experience, couldn't organise a defence to save his life and doesn't pass the ball.

How is his defence?????

He was is on a dev. contract at the moment and unless they upgrade him cannot play until round 16.

Russell, aren't you the least bit excited about the potential of this young man? Sure he is raw and requires polish but there is a good chance he will be a gem. One thing I know about the PNG nationals, they are very tough, very strong and Edene just happens to be very quick. I also look at the raw talent of Allan Fitzgibon and think our club is doing something a little different. It sure has given oxygen to the belief the Club is pulling together and making significant strides to improve.

There’s a young indigenous fella called Allan Fitzgibbon training at Wests Tigers at the moment. Unsure of if he’s signed properly or if it’s a train and trial deal but he’s a young winger who played reserve grade for Penrith. He’s very very fast and good in the air. There’s a highlights video in the ‘New faces at training’ thread

Re Widdop it would surprise me if we went that path.
If we did have no doubts it would be on a small low risk contract. He would add value but at a cost of a potential talented gun.

I’m worried about the fullback role. Laurie is a few years off nrl fullback level & all we really have is Mbye or AD.

Backrower we are weak in as well.

I doubt much will happen next 6 weeks signings wise as places will be shutting shop soon.

Do you really think he is a few years off? He looked right at home when he debuted for Penrith. He is ready for first grade now, and that is definitely why he was acquired, and why we have continued to push for an early release.

Yeah I do. I think getting him early he will develop into the role but longer term is more a 5/8th than a fullback.
If we got him next year great & hope I’m wrong but in my view he is in the Mbye/AD mould. He will be ok but won’t be the longer term 1, we will be back where we started within 6-12mths of his debut with us.

The top sides in this comp. all have at least 3 proven top class players in the backs.Ouf forwards i now think can match them.But their backs are far superior and will carve us up next year. I think we will go ok ,but not great until we buy strike players not availiable till 2022.We need to buy 2 0r 3,and i think our recruitment staff would be working on this.Just might make the 8.

I think Lauries a great buy,he has speed and skill,both things we lack.Fullback may or maynot work,but he looks classy.
