would you rather have a decent lock, or a third hooker on the books... I would offer him good money to play lock, if not be content to play against him.

Well an entertaining year comping up for 2020, our starting draw is a bit brutal but might be just what we need.

Crichton sounds like someone is trying to drive up his price. We are a million to one to land a player from Penrith who is a local junior and upcoming star. We thrive with fringe first graders, ageing veterans or players with dramas.

Yes Widdop does play fullback, but hopefully not for Wests Tigers.

Who could we sign that would be a better back up 1/6 than Widdop?

I’d suggest we should not get too carried away looking at reserve grade highlights. Widdop has had a stellar career in NRL and international football and would be a great short-term stop gap solution. His goal kicking alone would be invaluable for us.

I don’t see it as implausible that we would target Crichton, and on big $. I’m not going to compare him to Ponga but he could be to us what Ponga is to Newcastle. Possible franchise player and player that other players want to play with, but the most likely scenario is probably his management trying to push up his price.

We’d be silly not to try sign him. Whether we actually get him is a different story.

If we let Walters go we’ll be very light on number 9s.

If Liddle gets injured, all we’ll have is a 19 year old with no NRL experience.

Mbye is also playing fullback and is our cover for our 5/8th with half a game of experience.

If we lose Walters, Widdop might actually make sense.

Don't really like Mbye at hooker though. Ordinary defence and never engages the markers.

Letting Walters go and Signing widdop for not much more would be a no brainer for me
I think there would be alot of upside to that

Agree. Why on earth would you not sign an aging Benji and then bring in an aging Widdop as a replacement. I don’t want to see Widdop anywhere near the Wests Tigers.

Benji had Many many many years trying for to Tigers, but at the end of the day his best wasn't good enough for us
Widdops kicking game if far superior to Benji's
Widdop is a smart player
The question is does he still have it and is he fit enough

I believe this to be true. If so you can thank Robbie and Sam.

It’s seems it’s very easy to get this forum buzzing. Out of the blue we get a post that we are about to sign one of the hottest young players and the forum laps it up. No information where this news is coming from, maybe like the mystery front rower. Okay this info might be legitimate but we have been down this track a million times and come up empty
