Getting B.Smith will be the difference between us being a top 4 side or being a bottom 8 side for the next 10 years.
Imo we can't wait 3yrs to see if one of our current 9s is a rep player then go looking for one if they're not.

This is the biggest get the club could pull off for a long time

Disagree - he is not as good a DH as Liddle - good at a lot of other things but his passing from the ruck is rank.

Thats why he plays for NZ and Liddle struggles to make a side that has finished out of the 8 for 2 decades

If you think Smiths passing from the ruck, or speed from the ruck is better than Liddle - you are delusional.

Besides Liddle can't play for NZ - he is not a NZ'er.

If you think Liddle is a better player you're beyond delusional

So why has he played for the jr Kiwis, New Zealand and New Zealand Maori if he's not a Kiwi?

Liddle was an Aust Schoolboy star. He has been sought after by Manly, Canterbury and ironically the Storm but always stuck with WTs. Smith is a fine player but more a running and impact forward. Liddle has a great pass from dummy half and is super quick.

Lot's of Australian schoolboy stars now laying pipes on the side of the road. Schoolboy stars are a dime a dozen and don't matter once you hit the NRL.
I have a great pass and I'm super quick too.
I'll take Smith over Liddle in any position, different league of player.

But Liddle isn't laying pipes or digging ditches. To come back from such a severe injury and perform so well is a high achievement. Comparing Liddle and Smith won't get you far as they are different types of player. If Smith were at our club there is every indication he would be played from the interchange as a running impact forward. Liddle and Simpkin would still be our hookers.

For me, Liddle is a future Captain. He is articulate and in every interview I have heard, he is impressive.

I’m not seeing it with Liddle. In my opinion hd has been prone to injury and shows flashes at best. Haven’t seen him play an 80 minute game where I’d say he was man of the match. Mbye is good in front of a microphone too.

You'll eat your words with Liddle. Every great attacking move this season will start from a 10/10 spiral pass out in front to the first receiver from dummy half. He's not quite Aaron Smith (All Blacks) good on the ground pass, but he's as close as I've seen in this era of NRL.

Agree. His service is criminally underrated. Cameron Smith has the body of an accountant but always puts the ball where it needs to be, its harder than people think.

?? yes agree. But if you had to pick one attribute for a hooker what would it be? The bloke is in the team to make every ptb and pass it to the correct player. We can't be a team of champions, therefore we must be a champion team. Everyone knows their role

I think madge doesn’t mind a veteran winger and he knows how to pick them (lote).

I think beyond the preconceived opinions of him on here you will find he has more upside than AJ.

All I remember of this bloke is him spruiking "tigers are like a bad ex-girlfriend" because our fans hated Ivan. No thanks to this bloke who has passed over the hill. Give me AJ and an upside any day over this flogger.

One of the hardest things to teach juniors ...even just hitting a runner one off the ruck ...most kids throw the pass and expect the runner to get there ...takes ages to teach your runners to pick their line and then your hookers and 1st receivers hit the runner

The only way it would make sense is on a short deal, as a backup, very well subsidised and allows us to get Laurie early.

I’d say we want 2 and he wants 3.

No to Mansour. Let the Panthers carry him for the next 3 years.

If those chocolate soldiers want a hand with cap relief, we should offer Crichton a big deal. Then they won't have to worry about mansour's coin. He could be our fullback for the next 10 years. Kid has talent

If Panthers heavily subsidised the deal and release Laurie early I'm onboard with taking Mansour. He won't hurt our depth. There is bound to be injuries or players dropped for under-performance. It also sets our roster and with the leftover money in the bank we can front end some contracts giving us an amazing advantage coming into 2022, especially when more money becomes available.

He seems a good bloke too.

I think madge doesn’t mind a veteran winger and he knows how to pick them (lote).

I think beyond the preconceived opinions of him on here you will find he has more upside than AJ.

More upside than AJ? Seriously, how?

AJ had like 4 or 5 games while showed improvement hasn’t totally proven himself.

Mansour has established himself played finals and still got it.

Pretty clear I thought

Not much upside to a 30 year old outside back. lots of upside to a 20 year old who’s only played a handful of games.

Two players with most expectations are Momo and AJ. Momo will be captain next year if he stays healthy.

No he won't.

All I remember of this bloke is him spruiking "tigers are like a bad ex-girlfriend" because our fans hated Ivan. No thanks to this bloke who has passed over the hill. Give me AJ and an upside any day over this flogger.

God bless that guy that made Ivan blow kisses.

Not clear at all. Blocking a young guy with an old fella who wants a 3 year deal. Pretty backward thinking if you ask me...

Tamou inked a two-year deal with the Tigers in September, and knew the Panthers would struggle to retain all their talent.

He said Crichton, who is holding out for a better three-year deal, was worth every penny. He also hoped ''freak'' Laurie - and Josh Mansour - would be released and given the chance to join him at the Tigers a year early.

This is a very short sighted view. He wants 3 years, a nice retirement package. He's slow now, imagine how he will be in two years! Reynolds Mk2! Most importantly, we have very good young fellows coming through and it is the easy and a soft approach.
for a coach to use him in the NRL when as a development club we should be promoting Rizk or Kei or some other young hopeful. Maguire has an extension to develop our youngsters not to recruit a has been from the Panthers.

Tigers have Blore,Tamou,Laurie and this must be an attraction for young Crichton.Plus being within 30 minutes from the best city and beaches in the world.

There must be some truth to us being interested in Mansour. Wouldn’t have mentioned it otherwise.
