I think madge doesn’t mind a veteran winger and he knows how to pick them (lote).

I think beyond the preconceived opinions of him on here you will find he has more upside than AJ.

More upside than AJ? Seriously, how?

AJ had like 4 or 5 games while showed improvement hasn’t totally proven himself.

Mansour has established himself played finals and still got it.

Pretty clear I thought

Not much upside to a 30 year old outside back. lots of upside to a 20 year old who’s only played a handful of games.

Two players with most expectations are Momo and AJ. Momo will be captain next year if he stays healthy.

I like AJ but I don't think Momo will be getting more game time than when he was in Melbourne. Slow, small centre with really good fundamentals of playing rugby league. I can't see him having a long career in the NRL but he is a great value for money player in a top team if you don't have talented centres.

Momo is actually quite large (6 ft 3, 90kg). He lost a lot of weight last year due to injury which made him thinner than usual but at full fitness and strength he can look imposing (see trial match v Panthers). Pace wise he’d be average for an NRL centre. Regardless of who starts, I think we’ve got enough depth now at centre to be sweet. He’ll do a good job if called upon.

Momirovski is one of those players if given a little room inside the opponents quarter, he is likely to score. He has the footballing smarts whereas some more highly rated players in the same position won't.

From Craig Bellamy himself ""if Momo wasnt injured he would have been in the grand final side"""...
says quite alot about Momos playing skills and worth..

It says nothing at all. He wasn't picked.

Cant get picked if your out injured Earl,Bellamy had a lot of praise for Momo and it was him that made the swap with Harry possible...Bellamy isnt a weak coach he has the runs on the board and I would take his opinion of Momo over yours mate..

Regardless, he’d be behind BJ, Jet and Talau as far as centres go. Unless there’s an injury or suspension can’t see him getting much time in first grade

He was getting picked regularly until he got injured. Brenko Lees rare purple patch of form admittedly kept him out of the side when he was fit again

good on him. He deserves a start somewhere, just didn't fit the Madge style of forwards. certainly gave his all while here

from memory, he was selected in the run-on tam to cover Vunivalu when he got injured. Olam and Lee were picked over him regularly throughout the season. If that was the case, seems Bellamy saw him as a good player to cover an injury and keep the pressure on for selections.

Something like that yeah.

People keep forgetting he was probably our most lethal back towards the end of 19 when we made that mini charge towards the semis. I would have him higher in the pecking order than Talau and AJ in their respective careers as it stands

To be honest I would rather neither. Hopoate is average and Meaney always struck me as someone who would hesitate before making a play...looks like he lacks that killer instinct.

Happy to stick with Mybe until Laurie arrives.

Entitled to your opinion, Meany has issues under the high ball and isn't the biggest lad. But you are right he's an okay kicker and has got wheels to burn. I think Hopoate is a better all round footballer and would walk into our team as a fullback.

All this discussion on Mansour, Whiddop, Laurie and Crichton is fine but the real need in our team is at second row
I'd happily wait on Laurie, sure make a play for Crichton from 2022 but for goodness sake let's spend our biggest chunk on a difference making second rower

Agreed. We find a good second rower our entire team is looking much better.

But players of Crichton don't become available often so its important to attempt signing of a possible genuine superstar.

100% we need a gun backrower , we should target someone who is with the roooters or storm and pay them more than they are on , because they would be on peanuts . Everyone does it to us so let’s put the shoe on the other foot

Just a idea.. idk if mattheson johns is with us

But i feel he has the build to be a great 2nd rower

Anyone know if he is still at the club?

Not sure but I heard big raps on him. He looked fired up in that trial last year that's for sure

Who could we get for next season ? It'd need to be a top level player too. Angus Crichton would be great. Kikau as well. We need a player at that level of ability.
