Michael Tannous looks promising, plus another couple, but as yet to young,.Then we have to keep them as all other clubs will swoop as we have done.Madden may be given a try,and i think Laurie would be great but until we get another FB that will be his position. We all hope Douiehi works out in the long run.

I am bullish on Tannous, much more so than Madden. Seems to have an air of arrogance about his play which is what a good half needs.

I like the look of Michael Tannous as well. Plays very direct with speed. Looks well balanced on his feet and has a great side step. Still young. Not sure what’s happening with reserve grade this year. He is named in the Balmain 2021 SG Ball team but was doing pre season with The NRL extended squad. I’m guessing 2022 at the earliest for NRL?

Madden is in the Top30 and a possibility for R1 depending on trial form. He will have to grab whatever opportunities in NRL with both hands as Tannous will be competing for a halves spot in 2022.

SG Ball age has increased to under 19’s this year. I’m guessing it’s because of how all the lower grades have been disrupted with COVID.

Development players for 2021 are Kelma Tuilagi, Reece Hoffmann, William Kei.
You’d imagine Tannous would get a development contract in 2022. Or if Walters moves to Brisbane, Hoffmann might get a 2021 Top 30 spot and Tannous a dev spot this year as we are thin in the halves. With 3 spots in the Top 30 still vacant anything could happen.

Interested to get your take on his strengths and weaknesses? Have you watched him in the junior ranks?

Sorry, I don’t have any great insight into his strengths and weaknesses. I do know a lower grade coach that is impressed by his game. I did notice from online videos of his games that he has plenty of speed and a great step. 2020 was very limited for live footy viewing.

Not long after the Global Financial Crisis came along and I lost ‘heaps’ more $$$ from my super.
I think my financial adviser at that time did his best, or did he?
My brother was smart enough at the time to have all his $$$ in the bank and lost zero.
I finally ended up with 1/4 of what I should have had.
So I have gone from what should have been a comfortable life to one where I have to consider twice every $ I spend, and will soon be forced to live as a grey nomad in a 14ft caravan until I can get into a Housing Commission house.

That sucks. I'm sorry to hear this.

Here is the thing. Financial advisers are there to take money from you. There job isn't to improve your financial well being.

Investing is really easy. You just invest in index funds. All good super funds should do this. All financial advisers do is act as a drag on your returns because they cost you money.

They are doing their best. They just aren't competent and they aren't acting in your interest. It's not a career like medicine or something where your education enables you to succeed.

My investment advisers are Warren Buffet and Jack Bogle. I know for a fact I'm outperforming basically every financial adviser. The odds are in my favor. You can follow these guys as well.

Geez Earl, I don’t know what age you are or what experiences you have had but it’s such an ignorant post. Hope you do well in the future big fella.

It's factual. I'm doing great. Financially I'm killing it. Staying away from stupid investment advice that FP's offer is a big part of that success.

Financial education is easy. Stay away from an industry designed to rip you off.

You nailed it Earl

I had a financial planner a long time ago

Didn't hurt me too much but didn't take long to see they're just puppets to the big end of town

Ditched him in no time and set things up myself and am doing so well now

Couldn't be happier financially

With all that money you’re making perhaps enrol in some humility classes

I don't mean to come across as boasting. Good investing is the opposite of boasting. It requires humility and a recognition of our inability to beat the market.

That is the scam that FP's offer. They pretend they can do better than the average person can but it's not true. Then they charge you for your services.

Listen to Buffet. I'm no financial genius. Save money. Don't get into debt. Invest in index funds. Any chump can do it.

I will never be rich but I'll do well because I recognize I'm no genius and there are no geniuses out there.

I'll do a lot better without financial planners than with them. You and basically 99% of the population are in the same boat.

What on earth happened to this thread?

Financial planning...Mbye's apathy....

Thanks for that clip, he looks like a good prospect. Plenty of speed, a good step and he likes to play physical by the looks of it. Good signs.
Had to laugh at the bloke he passed the ball to at 2.11........he must of thought it was an away game that bloke?

Anyone can do it. It's really simple. Just invest in index funds. Ideally the broadest possible index fund. You will beat the pants off FP's.

I'm not rich so there are no hand-outs. You'd be first on my list though.

I worked in a big bank and I know what they are like. It's a scam. Buffet rails against it.

It’s only junior footy of cause......but it does highlight how well balanced he is at speed and how direct his natural game is. Obviously there is a lot more than that to make it as an NRL half. Hopefully reserve grade happens this year and he can step up from SG Ball.
Looking forward to watching Madden in the trails this year. I think he played in last year trials against Penrith or the Warriors but didn’t impress from memory.

How did he look to you? I seem to remember he wasn’t near Brooks level. However Brooks regressed throughout 2020. Brooks did have a bad back in 2019 and 2020 which I think he has now gotten on top of.

I stumbled upon some of maddens highlights...his 2019 season aswell with the Maggie’s. I was impressed, particularly with the accuracy of his short kicking game. Man I really hope he can put pressure on Brooks

It would be criminal if reserve grade didn’t go ahead this year as it would stall the development of players like madden and Simpkins who could very well be in the clubs future plans

Madden played in the Penrith trial.

How did he look to you? I seem to remember he wasn’t near Brooks level. However Brooks regressed throughout 2020. Brooks did have a bad back in 2019 and 2020 which I think he has now gotten on top of.

He played about as good as his forwards let him. Iirc we got thumped by about 30+ and there were no real standouts

Thanks for that clip, he looks like a good prospect. Plenty of speed, a good step and he likes to play physical by the looks of it. Good signs.
Had to laugh at the bloke he passed the ball to at 2.11........he must of thought it was an away game that bloke?

He went ok, it was a hard game to judge on as we got dominated, Musgrove was the standout in that game.

I remember watching him in 2019 in reserve hard to tell as the team Was garbage won’t tell until gets his crack in first grade.

But he was no Andrew johns in reserves 2019
