Nick Politis came out today saying rumours of Marshall signing with them were unfounded. Said they were happy with their halves options.

You would think that Benji would take a hint and retire as it looks like no club wants him.

I said this last year that he needs to retire and enjoy a big send off that the club would of gave him.. He will regret it and miss the send off he deserved.. Ego gets in his way

His ego is his biggest problem and it still is controlling his actions, just like his low percentage plays became a bigger part of his game as he aged.Unfortunately he dosent have what it takes anymore but he refuses to believe it

Wasn't aware of the extent or nature of his injury.
Not bagging the bloke. Hope he runs amok this season.

Another player who copped an unfair bagging.

Don't know if people are bagging him, just stating 2020 wasn't as good as 2019. Obviously his injuries were a massive part of that.

He’s destroying his legacy, such a pity, a bit like Graham Langlands white footy boots, people don’t remember how good he was they just remember those boots.

Langlands actually played ok in his last year but in the GF the needle that he had before the game had the opposite effect to what it was supposed to do.The painkiller actually retarded movement in his leg,38-0 later he is in the history books for the wrong reasons along with his white boots

As long as he's not 'built like Tarzan: plays like Jane'.
He needs to produce this year, last season was very disappointing after a great 2019 from him.

Serious? He was injured a fair bit of the season.

Apart from his injuries, when he was on the park he didn't seem a shadow of the 2019 version.
Hopefully he has a huge year this year.

He started 2020 on fire, they were talking about him being a smokey for the Blues 13. He injured his sternum and really struggled to reclaim that form, didn't help that they rushed him back and he reinjured it in the first game plus had knee issues. He will be back to his best this year. Our forwards are going to belt people.

Can confirm, sternum injuries are something else...I’m not surprised he had a below par 2020

As can I. Mine was sawn open 26 years ago and it still troubles me.

Goes without saying that if you say something against Jason Taylor you get random negative reps.

I will back you to the hilt, JT is the worse coach we have had, he may have a good footy brain, but he has no idea how to use it. Set the club back years, couldn’t get over his own ego, Fa’alogo gave him what for, we should have heeded the warning. The bloke caused trouble as a player and coach everywhere he went. Easts have even moved him on from assistant coach to pathways or so

Potter was worse. The most ineffective coach ever.
How he escaped ridicule is beyond me.
Not a single improvement in any area of our game.

Think you are totally incorrect on Potter - just my opinion though!

I don't think it's an ego thing. He wants to play because he wants to play, it's not about ego. He doesn't seem surprised about not having offers and has actually turned a few down. I think he's just looking for an opportunity that suits him. Also, he wanted to keep playing for us, and I don't think there was any ego in his final game for us when he made the game about Lawrence at the end. Benji was a flamboyant player, but he was also a great clubman for the Tigers. I think his desire to play on isn't an ego thing, it's just wanting to play footy while he can. If it was about money he'd have gone to England, if it was about ego he'd probably pursue a media career where I'm sure he'd be a big attraction, his playing on in the NRL, even accepting a squad role, is about the most humble thing he can do. Why does Benji cop it? And 'legacy' stuff is something fans and commentators dribble on about, I reckon Benji plays because he loves it.

Good points but benji comments end of this season showed there is still elements of ego there playing for the tigers.

If tigers are to ever change benji cannot be in the wests tigers squad I’m certain of that.

Given how much he takes over a team when his playing I’m not sure which club would suit him for the benefit of one season.

Sometimes you just have to know when it’s finished.

Sometimes you just have to know when it’s finished.

If grant didn’t pass him the ball all the time....

Not saying we would should sign him, just that you can see he just wants to play. In all honesty it’s heartbreaking to see as he deserves a far better ending. (To state the obvious he and the club have parts to play in this ending).
