Has anyone seen much of madden? Is he as good as everyone is saying he is?

Only seen junior rep footage playing for NSW and CC footage from 2019 and he looked real good. Fast and solid kicking game.

I wouldn't say real good. He show's promise but makes too many poor decisions. His kicking game is below the needed standard and he was a liability in defence. He's raw but with work could be something. He needs another year playing for the Magpies.

Summary:

Half combo unsure as yet. Said Madden had thrown a spanner in the works.

JTJ killing it and happy.

Laurie is exceptional and was good enough to force his way into the team at Penrith last year.

Hasn't been named captain, said there's a few guys who Maguire looks to for leadership.

Gee he interviews well.

As far as i know the insiderman on twitter floated it and i think not 100% sure the pom said Madge was a big admirer i cant recall whether he said there have been discussions or not. But just seach The_POM and all his comments will come up and you can read them for context yourself.

edit i just read back myself Madge is a fan Isako is a fan of Madges, Walters back to Broncos is progressing we want a player in return (possibly Isako) my words not his and has been spoken about internally.From what i gather Poms personal opinion is it isnt likely but coming days telling depends how desperate Kevvie wants Billy.

The POM also said Daine Laurie for 2021 was unlikely, whilst the insideman said it was a done deal. He also mentioned that momo was 90% done at the dogs however the Dogs went cold as they had renewed hope of landing Burton this year and needed to keep the spot free. Pretty bang on

If anyone wants to watch Madden play the 2019 Canterbury Cup games are still available on 9 Now . I think the game v Knights is his first.

I dont know anything about insiderman first time id seen his name when he was linked with Isako to us. I have no idea on how bang on he is are you saying he's fairly accurate?

I dont know if we are getting Isaako or not,but I think Mbye and Douehi will be goalkicking for us,apparently both have been doing plenty of practise during offseason...
Dont really know,but both are reasonable kickers,Haligan on board should certainly help them in that area of their game...

Guess we've either watched different footage or have a different interpretation of ability then. I'll be honest I'm only basing my opinion on the limited YouTube vids available and I see natural ability, speed and great kicking game. None of the vids suggest poor defense however highlights reels generally aren't compiled to show deficiencies so I guess it's definitely possible.

Only way to know for sure where he's at is to throw him in and see if he swims or sinks.

Thats the big question.....IF we get him,otherwise we have capable players doing the extra work to become more efficient goalkickers...

I worry about this too, Mybe mentioned recently he is only a small body (though plays with plenty of heart).

He plays in the low 80kgs to put this in comparison with Brooks who isn't the biggest player, he plays at 88kg. I would be concerned putting him either next to JTJ or BJ both aren't considered great defensively. Adding Nofo coming in off the wing on one of those sides and some teams could have an absolute field day field day.

Kid has a lot of talent in attack but we need to make sure he has the team around him in form before throwing him in on a full time basis.
