Guess Maguires intentions are becoming clear. Wants a power game.

Amone is a good signing and at the very least offers the reserve grade team good depth in the position.

Sometimes I feel these guys need to look in the mirror and recognise the gifts the have been given.

This guy can be anything he wants.

I think with Tamou and Big O in our pack and injury free Twal I believe the others will step up. I see Amore signing as pushing Packer out the door. MCK also needs a big season.

He is not even confirmed as a signing to the club in any capacity.I trust the person(Pom) who said he is coming implicitly but stranger things have happened before a player puts pen to paper and is announced.

Packer has been on 600k, he hasn't performed well enough to make our 17. BYE.

MCK is a fringe first grader. He is on the edge of the 17 and gets paid accordingly I believe. We need prop's we need players who can play that utility roll when people get injured. It's called depth and our forward pack still needs that badly. No idea what he is on but we could throw him 200k happily, even 250k.

Why MCK and not sign Packer on a min contract. Attitude, Packer's has sucked and sucked really bad since Cleary left. I doubt Packer will take the field again, ever. Packer could be a prime first grader, and chooses not too. MCK, all faults is trying 100% and while that only gets him Wests Tigers Jersey 18, he is putting in.

Packer has been consistently poor since he came to the club,MCK is not a first grade player and getting a young bloke is a far better option.Both need to depart by the end of this year.

I'm with Sparten on this one, a roster cleanout is on the cards.
Madge has basically said it will take time to get the right team on the park. By mid year Madge and Hartigan will have a good idea of who they want going forward. The club is far more professional now, and "maybe" players will be shown the door. We have at least 6 players that need to perform and if not, it's 'goodbye dick".

Not sure about that. He was a starting prop towards the back of the year and was the only one of our players that could really dent the line and hit solid in D.
I wouldn’t be writing TM out of the top squad just yet. His a pretty vital piece.

Provided Chee Kam doesnt want too much $$$ I'd happily re-sign him for 2 more years on the understanding utility value and fringe first grade. Packer I wouldnt touch again- has not earned his money in any way, not put in on the field or off, and just bludged. Yes, he has been injured at times but......

2nd tier contract for Chee Kam. Otherwise he wastes a spot in the 30 for a young potential. Packer has been good in limited opportunities not 700k good but decent if on the right money.
He could probably command between 300-350k on the open market.
I think his probably got limited options in continuing his career and I’m pretty sure England he is ineligible for.
Maybe Ivan or Griffin might bring him across cheap

Anyone know much of Amone? He looks like a big fella, however I am a little skeptical seeing he has played 9 games and is 24 but that is just surface level worries that I’m sure could be eased with those that may have insight on him. Also seen he was released by souths in November so has been on market for a while without much talk around town. Again, happy to be educated on the matter by those with more knowledge of the situation. Cheers

Dominant in NSW Cup with a big motor. Dents the line and runs hard. Tevita Tatola is the best comparison however, injury last year the question mark. Solid bench player probably spells the end of Packer in first grade.
We have depth upfront when fit Musgrove, Tamou, Ofehengaue, Twal, Utoikamanu, Amone, Packer.

That’s too many props in one roster and I wouldn’t be surprised if we let Packer go early to free up a spot closer to June 30 or earlier.
