Wonder if we having a look at Folau lee just spoke about his situation and didn’t shut it down

I would take Folau in a heartbeat. Make it happen tigers.

Wouldn't go near that filth and he's spent so long out of rugby league there's no way he'd be that good transitioning back.

Who the hell do you think you are to call him filth?? Why are people who don't believe in a heaven and hell, getting so worked up about his comments anyway.

I'll call him whatever I like within reason thanks phil.

so you can say what you like about him Willow while denying him the right to express his views.

Forget about what he believes, he’s 32 and hasn’t played first grade in a decade

Wests Tigers fans: We’re sick of our club being a retirement home

Also Wests Tigers fans: Let’s sign a 32 year old has been

There are far better players to target then that bloke
Let him disappear into the population never to be seen or heard of again
We need to aim far higher
It's time to spend some money on an elite player of today not yesteryear

Anyone know which Sydney club is chasing Coates?

If we aren’t we are on serious drugs . There’s a huge void in at least 2 positions in our backline . I think potentially Hoffman and Kei will get there , but that wing spot is a headache .

Does anyone know if Oates actually has recovered properly from that bad leg injury he suffered against us last year? At the time they were concerned it could have been career ending.

I think he played the following week mate

At the time it happened they thought it was a compound fracture of the femur, it turned out it was just a large haematoma and a deep gash in his leg.

So it was nowhere near as bad as first thought.

Yeah mate, I think you are correct. I remember thinking it was one of the worst injuries I had seen when it happened and then in the end it was a bad bruise.

Just imagine Reynolds playing for us instead of Souffs.

No Walker (hurts me to even mention that grubs name) to guide the team around, very poor defender, he has no running game with Souffs let alone with us. People say he has no back problems, I'm sure you would find out pretty quick if he was playing with us and no bodyguards around him. Crunch!!!!

The guy has a pretty good kicking game - he also has players around him that take advantage of that....do we?

Would not be half the player with us - personally think he is pretty ordinary player with a good kicking game.

It would be a Big NO from me.

So we keep a half with absolutely no kicking game
Damed if we do
Dated if we don't
Not having a decent kicking game has killed us for years

We need repeat sets
We need an 80% goal kicker
Someone who doesn't crumble under pressure
We need a kicker who can pin the opposition down their own end and not let them start sets 30 out from there own end on the 1st tackle
Maybe Doueihi can fill this void now

Reynolds
87% tackle efficiently this season
4 forced drop outs this season
358.4 kicking meters per game
50 running meters per game
0 try assists
0 line break assists
15 goals at 83.3%
1 offload
167 receipts
57 tackles 87.1% efficiently

Luke brooks
83 % tackle efficiently this season
1 forced drop out this season
221 kicking meters per game
81 running meters per game
5 try assists
2 line break assists
2 goals at 100%
4 Offloads
229 Receipts
67 Tackles 83% efficiently

You can see by those stats that Brooks seems to get more involved in the play
**Maybe he is trying to hard himself** and should try and organise the players around him more
Save himself for those key moments
Also his kicking meters is well down
Our forwards are having to work to hard to get up the other end of the field
Hopefully Doueihi can now help in this area
We need to start playing smart football
And for that we need smart players
I think Reynolds is one of those players

Well I think it's good that he's trying, I try to hard myself on a regular basis.?

So some of the people on this group are willing to offer a 2 year contract to a player who has a chronic back injury? No garuntee he will last 2 years. Shit defender btw and After the 2 years then what? We gotta find a new halfback and new combinations? It’s just creating more problems for our club. Decisions like this are the reason we are still rebuilding. If you wanna buy a new halfback, it should be a gun halfback who we can build around for years to come. not a player that’s at the end of there career or another rookie. Much prefer brooks over reynolds. I mean Souths won’t offer there halfback from the last decade longer than one year for god sake.

Sounds like it's due to appalling Cap management more than anything else. Can't wait for the media to go to town on them.

If it had anything to do with salary cap why would they offer him one year? They even came out today offering him a 2 year contract worth 1.4mil. That’s 700k a season... the catch is year 2 is a club option. Clearly the Souths are worried about something. Regardless like
Someone said genuine halfbacks are hard to come by but Souths are willing to let him go next year if he doesn’t take the one year contract. The chronic injury seems interesting, why would Souths come out and say something negative about the halfback that won the a grand final and has been loyal to them for a decade.

What gun, in their prime halfbacks are available? They rarely leave the clubs they're at. Brooks is in no way shape or form a better halfback than Reynolds.

Also pretty sure the whole 'chronic back injury' thing got debunked as Souths making stuff up.

That’s my point! Much rather stick with brooks, give him time with combinations and the same coach and we will see the best of him.

Reynolds would cost us over and a big risk for 2 years in term of his chronic injury. After the 2 years we need another half and gotta wait till the combinations settle again. It’s just the same thing again, the reason why we can’t be consistent is the amount of changes in combinations and coaches in the last decade. It just turns into another rebuild. Brooks makes 25 tackles a game! I garuntee you reynolds misses close to 10 a game, he won’t get the same cover in our team.

Why would the club lie about that about a player? It hasn’t been debunked at all, if anything it looks suss why they don’t want him for longer than a year.

They would make it up to cover up the fact their salary cap is in a mess and that's why they can't offer him a longer deal... been widely reported at this point. Reports are that they have offered him 2 years at this point - he's rejected it now.

If you think brooks will evolve anymore as a player then I'm not sure what to tell you. He can play well but he's not the kind of player we need anymore, we need a leader/organiser and that's just not him.

I'd rather 2 years of Reynolds then signing another half compared to 2 years of Brooks being a spud and having to replace him soon enough anyway.

That is the least of his problem’s, it is not good where your in law is a board member of the club that is trying to offload you & even the Cowboys are steering clear of you,I wonder why this is? People need to move on past the idea of bringing Corey Oates here. Gebbie is a much better option, hopefully we will see him on the park soon, or even sign Blake Ferguson

What Souths' offered was two years but the Club has a second year option as to whether they take up the year. It's called window dressing.

I posted yesterday about the number of above average players lost to WTs - Farah, Marshall, Tedesco, Simona, JAC, Woods, Moses, Tapau even Papenhuyzen while Brooks remained. We are not comparing level playing fields as Souths have Cook, Walker, Mitchell and the NSW lock besides Reynolds. Put those players with Brooks in a WTs' team and I suggest we would not be having Brooks' threads. I am not demonstrating a lack of respect to our current players. We lack experience which will be learnt.
