Anyone watching Panthers? Kikau and Liam Martin have been able to swing that game with their hard running. We are no chance until we improve our back row, they are so important in the modern game.

can't say I've ever seen Kikau run at a forward (am probably very well mistaken), always centres and halves....goes to show how well the panthers run their games.

Naysayers ? That’s an interesting way to look at it . I saw a guy get to his kicks , and shift early to benji and Lattrell .
I didn’t see anything worth 1 mil a year . Which is what it would cost .

Would it? $1.4 mill over 2 years is the current offer.

He'd be worth that.

What do we do with brooks ? Offload to the boys ? Also what do we do in 2024 ? Is madden gonna wait ? Is there a junior coming through ? Not saying I hate it . Just there’s a lot to sort out , the future 3 years from now the most important . Plus you all know I’m pro brooks .

1. Farah stifled him and service was too slow
2. Benji was the dominant half and Brooks was too shy

He’s been through 3 coaches and no finals with any.

My main point is no more excuses. He is our guy. , he is the man in control. Step up Brooks and seize your opportunity or it’s time to move on. I watched the game with 10 blokes who go for 3 different teams and not one of them would have Brooks in their team.

Mitchell Pearce played 10 years at the Roosters and most of that time was NSW's half. Roosters punted him for Cronk and won two GF's in a row. That's the difference a champion half makes. Reynolds is next level to Brooks.

The "excuses" seems to be from people on the forum, not from Brooks or anyone at the club.

Maybe we just have a difference of opinion on what "In control" means. I think it means he is the guy that decides if a forward should run up the middle or if we should attack on the left or right edges. He is also the guy that calls which plays will be run in each set.

What do you think it means?

From the mouth of a tigers board member. Madge asked the club about Folau over the off season and it was an unequivical NO. The chairman is a lawyer and a businessman and knows its anrgument he doesent want to be involved in given many players and supporters are religious but the club will not be signing Folau

There was an article saying there was drama with a board member leaving anyone know anything about that?

I’m no lawyer but if a nrl club gave him a contract think it would be hard for nrl to refuse. He’s no criminal. He’s a footballer who cares about all the other crap.

It was Mick Lubinskas - he didn't leave - he was ousted from the board. The conspiracy theory is that Mick who is very pro magpies stated at the AGM that there was no way Wests Magpies would be re branded as Wests Tigers in NSW Cup or RMC while he was there. A week later he was ousted from the board of Wests Tigers and also as chairman of WS Magpies. There has been no official announcement from WT, WSM or Wests Ahfield as to why he was ousted.

Sounds like the Board got it right to me.

We are not a 50/50 JV, not even close, Balmain haven’t paid anything for a long time, Wests own 90%, could’ve been 100% as Balmain pay nothing. So that is why we have Wests Magpies as a reserve grade team

I'd prefer Western Suburbs survived along with the likes of Norths and Newtown in the NSWRL. I dont see the importance of having all grades under the same name. Just as many clubs dont have that as clubs that do.

It's not the same because Magpies still own Wests Tigers. Norths and Newtown do not own a senior club, they feed into the NRL by the graces of other NRL clubs.

All clubs that have a different brand in NSW Cup, don't actually own or run that club. Blacktown Workers used to funnel players into the Panthers but now they've rebranded themselves Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles. Mounties have only been the Bulldogs feeder club for 2 seasons?

The Dragons have a single combined NSW Cup side.

I think having a separate Magpies or Balmain reserves side only serves to promote any lingering merger factional issues, as old or minor as they may indeed be.

In fact I find it very surprising that people can be so vocal about needing to have a single home ground, for our identity as much as anything, but happy to have one or more differently-branded feeder sides.

We are on the same page. He calls the plays. He organises the team around in attack. Then he finishe of our sets with kicks to turn the opposition around or even better some repeat sets. Our attack looks very disjointed and end to sets is woeful unless douhei is putting those screamers up.

Mate that's nonsense, we were an exactly 50/50 JV as of 2000, it really should not matter what has transpired since.

If not for the merger, Wests would have been cut as one of the bottom 3 Sydney teams, along with Souths, and Balmain would technically have made it. No doubt Balmain would have struggled to compete in the 2000s and perhaps even gone kaput themselves.

The only thing that has the club 90/10 is that Balmain Leagues got shafted by the NSW Government when trying to develop the premises, whereas Wests Ashfield sits on a goldmine of pokies money.

James Roberts is next level to Joey Leilua, but that's not necessarily saying a lot.

Roosters replaced the guy who had played 18 Origins with a guy who had played 22 Origins, all most all of them involved defeating Mitchell Pearce. They replaced RTS the NZ fullback with Tedesco the NSW Origin fullback.

So by all means, sign up the Tedesco or Cronk equivalent.

Naysayers ? That’s an interesting way to look at it . I saw a guy get to his kicks , and shift early to benji and Lattrell .
I didn’t see anything worth 1 mil a year . Which is what it would cost .

Would it? $1.4 mill over 2 years is the current offer.

What do we do with brooks ? Offload to the boys ? Also what do we do in 2024 ? Is madden gonna wait ? Is there a junior coming through ? Not saying I hate it . Just there’s a lot to sort out , the future 3 years from now the most important . Plus you all know I’m pro brooks .

I thought I made heaps of valid points. Brooks didn’t do well because

1. Farah stifled him and service was too slow
2. Benji was the dominant half and Brooks was too shy

He’s been through 3 coaches and no finals with any.
Best forward pack we have had in years.

My main point is no more excuses. He is our guy. , he is the man in control. Step up Brooks and seize your opportunity or it’s time to move on. I watched the game with 10 blokes who go for 3 different teams and not one of them would have Brooks in their team.

If that argument is supposed to support Reynolds it's an odd analogy considering that after 10 years at South's they are prepared to let Reynolds go - like the Roosters did with Pearce! Just sayin.

Yeah I get it you have Brooks at the bottom of the food chain when it comes to half backs.
I guess we will never know what impact Cronk would have had in a team with no rep players like Brooks has, because he never played in one
As for the other two both served their clubs well and played a role in securing premierships with great players around
them.

Anyone watching Panthers? Kikau and Liam Martin have been able to swing that game with their hard running. We are no chance until we improve our back row, they are so important in the modern game.

can't say I've ever seen Kikau run at a forward (am probably very well mistaken), always centres and halves....goes to show how well the panthers run their games.
