WHY STAR FORWARD KNOCKED BACK TIGERS

Rabbitohs forward Jai Arrow has revealed he considered a move to the Wests Tigers before ultimately signing with South Sydney.

The 25-year-old joined the Bunnies this season on a four-year deal but told NRL.comthat while he was with the Titans he “spoke to a few clubs” and the Tigers were one of them.

Tigers coach Michael Maguire flew up to the Gold Coast to meet with the Queensland Origin forward but Arrow says it was the Rabbitohs’ star power as well as a chance to reunite with coach Wayne Bennett and assistant Jason Demetriou that lured him to the club.

“No disrespect to the Tigers, but the proud history of Souths and obviously Wayne Bennett and the coaching staff here is second-to-none. Being back with Wayne and Jason Demetriou helped,” he said of the coaching duo he spent time with at the Broncos earlier in his career.

“The squad and the class of the players here was an attraction.”

sums is up really

It sums up 10 of the 16 NRL Clubs.

Naden linked with Bulldogs

Brent Naden’s future at Penrith is looking more and more clouded with constant speculation about his future. The latest rumour doing the rounds is that Naden could link up with former Penrith assistant coach Trent Barrett at Canterbury.

Naden is off-contract at the end of the year and appears to have fallen out of favour at the Panthers, particularly following the cocaine scandal that rocked the Grand Final aftermath. The Wests Tigers have also been mentioned as a possible destination for Naden.

I think we should offer josh Dugan a Low contract for maby 2 years he’s been playing really well lately and is good defensively and has a lot of experience

Might sound ridiculous but my brother plays online games with Dugan every now and then. He asked Dugan about playing for the Tigers when he was having contract dramas a year or so back and he said he doesn’t think he’d be able to play under Madge.

Reason being?

I don’t think he went into specifics, just snickered and said “I don’t think Madge and I would get along” something along those lines anyway. Made sense at the time as Madge is known to train very hard and Dugan has a broken body.

No one will believe this information ....ask many on this Forum ...we are premiership threats in 2021 ...just have to build some combinations , wait for Brooks to come good ,Liddle to come good , Roberts to get some good ball , Kepaoa to learn to catch , Nofa to learn to read the defence , the young forwards to improve , the old forwards to improve , all the other forwards in between to improve , Douehi to get quicker , Mbye to settle on a position .....Harry Grant , Matterson , Tedesco , MM , BMM , Woods and Brown to realize what horrible decisions they made to leave

Then we will be right ....I think ...maybe ...possibly

We have good young centres in Flegg. Keep the pathway open and the young players interested. Let the Bulldogs have him.

Canterbury and Wests Tigers are eager to boost their backline stocks and both have targeted an off-contract Penrith flyer. Check out all the latest singing news.

The Wests Tigers and Bulldogs are preparing to prise Brent Naden out of Penrith with the misfiring clubs eager to add the strike centre to their backline.
Off-contract at the end of this season, Naden is poised to receive multi-year offers from both the Tigers and Dogs.

Currently playing for the Panthers’ unbeaten NSW Cup team, Naden is in the midst of serving a four-game run in the lower grades.

I'd take just about anyone at this point in time. Even coke-head. BJ is showing no signs of wanting to be here/playing well enough to be wanted here so his spot will be up for grabs between now and whenever he rides off into the sunset sometime this year. What the hell happened to him last week?...even on the replay it looked like he hardly copped a head knock at all yet he missed nearly all of last week and this week as well. Reminded me of Jackson Kaufusi years ago for WT telling the trainer he wanted to come off the field because "I have a headache".
Our club accommodates softness quite happily.

I'm sure his weekend with Papa Russ at Nanna Glen had nothing to do with it, nor the probability that he came home from said weekend with a suitcase full of cash.

To be fair though. If you were offered $500k to join Souths under Bennett, or $500k to join WT under Madge, you'd join Souths every day of the week.

For sure. I think our cash offer would of exceeded theirs though. No-one in their right mind would want to come to WT recently. Pascoe probably had to cattle-prod Madge into the office to do some work this week.

Nah
I’d join West’s Tigers and I’d get to bludge for the same amount !
Get put into reserve grade .. bludge even more and go eat pizza with Packer and have a laugh ?

Naden, while a gun in attack, doesn't solve any of our defensive issues. there's a reason why Penrith benched him in favour of May through the finals last year.

I think you will find May is not a great defender either but he is Nafe's bestist bud..

Didn't do them any favours, may was awful in the grand final let multiple tries in. Naden is better on the wing I reckon
