Is there a reason we have been so quiet in the player market recently?
I assume there is cap room.
Many other teams are making moves.
Are we targeting specific players or are we being over looked?
It's pretty clear we need some upgrades/depth.

I would assume waiting for the right type of player at the right price. There's definitely a need for outside backs and an edge backrower. We have plenty of depth at Prop, hooker options seem set, full back set and for the most part for now I'd say halves are set.

We will never get the right type of player for the right price when other teams are trumping our offer over or under the table
We must pay overs for one or two players
Players like Brandon Smith and Adam Reynolds
Get those two and others will follow as other players will start to see that we are building a good team
These two players would be draw cards

It didn't work out that way when we signed Josh Reynolds and Moses Mbye.

The key is not so much how much you pay but who you pay it to
Now would you rather pay say $500,000 For Hastings or Say $800,000 for Brandon Smith
Brandon Smith I believe would be a far superior player in the Nrl
Hastings could be a flop
$300,000 cheaper but what is the point of saving $300,000 if he is useless
With Brandon, we can all see what we are getting
A player who likes to get his hands dirty down in the trenches

According to reports he’s on $1m per season at Wigan.

Lachlan Ilias' contract is up for renewal from what I read at Souths. Rather than signing Hastings, I'd bring Ilias back to WTs. Last time I watched him he was very good.

Ilias was pretty average today.

Was his first game at that level tho and his team were getting sparked from the first minute. Not a great platform to showcase his skills.

Interesting karmichaek Hunt is allowed back in the game for drug charges and Israel Folau is probably still going to be knocked back at getting a contract.

Difference is that Folau refuses to say he will not stop speaking out. He didnt get cancelled for his comments. He got cancelled for refusing to agree to the rules set by the governing bodies.

Hunt has said he wont do it again.

Pretty sure Folau signed the contract with Catalans on the proviso he would not cause a similar stir...

For me, our losses this year feel more personal and heavy.

We've had worse.
However, I'm hoping Edene Gebbie comes good.
Had minor surgery on his knee when he got here but should be on the field soon.

The only reason why Nofoalama changes wing positions was so he would be marked by Mansour.

After seeing Zac Cini play in the NSW cup in the fullback position I’d be more than willing to give him the an opportunity to lock down the wing position for WT, his game stats at fullback show he deserves it.

I know we are all talking about signing players etc.. But my main concern is not resigning Simpkin ASAP because the longer he plays the more his price rises. There is a few clubs that are a real concern to me and they are Roosters, Titans and Broncos. He is a QLD boy and his family didn't want him to leave Brisbane in the first place plus he loves the broncos. Roosters have unlimited Salary cap as we all know and I believe his partner would not say no to some media coverage etc.. Titans need a top line hooker and some how have money available.
We cannot afford to lose a player like him in a key position and if we offer a 3-4 year deal now it wont be as high as if we leave to later in year when its open season. I know it's also only his first game but this kid has been killing it at every level he plays and if we wanted to keep Liddle as our main 9 we would of re-signed him already.
