We've some pretty useful wingers in our Flegg. Why spend a fortune when we can produce one or two with histories we are aware of?

For next year yes, which is probably when we could get a new recruit anyway.

We definitely need a winger and a centre or two possibly. Maybe they use guys from within the club but surely we throw cash money at Coates!

"Reportedly" Broncos have offered coates 3 years $1.5m and titans 3 years $1.7m

Too much money for Coates. He’s a good player, but teams have started to figure him out and there are still a few gaps in his game.

At the moment he's just mostly an athlete - once he learns his trade he'll be top quality. Someone like Bellamy would make him a super start

Probably. Don't think that would happen if he comes here.

Not many available. Maybe edrick Lee but he's not that great... maybe Fitzgibbon gets a crack but he's still got heaps he needs to work on.

Not many available. Maybe edrick Lee but he's not that great... maybe Fitzgibbon gets a crack but he's still got heaps he needs to work on.

Mainly defence and high balls.

Our backline stocks are pretty depleted. If a good outside back becomes available we should go hard.

None of the names mentioned excite me or fill me with confidence. We have two or three young fellows that do excite me but they need a bit more time. Talau does a job for us as well as any names mentioned. He is underrated.

I'm truly shattered for the team...
Can only imagine how heartbroken Madge and the boys would be.

Or they may use it as motivation and a positive that they can compete IF they put in the effort and could come out stronger in the future.

The team were pretty much relentless in persistence for the whole 80. It's a young playing group in all actuality, so they need to learn how to grow from every defeat.

Im ok if they maintain and/or possibly gradually improve on that effort agains the bunnies.
For me they ALL gave 100% and you can’t ASK more than that.
Yes mistakes were made and we lost but all teams make them and lose.
Let’s face it this season we establish some combinations and weed out of our roster what we want and what we let go. Add couple of good additions next year, promote couple of our lower grade young guns and we should be kicking for higher ground on the 2022 table.

Despite putting in their best performance in a year on Thursday night, it seems even the biggest stars at the Broncos are not safe.

The Australian’s Brent Read told Triple M on Saturday that there’s set to be some “big changes” at Red Hill.

“There’s been some whispers around in the last couple of weeks that there’s about to be some big changes at the Broncos. There’s been some agents that have been told ‘just hold fire, we’re going to make a call in the next couple of weeks on what we do and who we move’,” he saud.

“I expect there’ll some guys to be tapped on the shoulder potentially in the next week or two at the Broncos.”

Read believes Brisbane’s starstudded forward pack are in the firing line as the Broncos try to find money to throw at Kotoni Staggs and up their chase for South Sydney’s Adam Reynolds.

“They’re very stacked in the middle of the field. They’ve got about $3 million in Payne Haas, **Tevita Pangai Jnr**, Matt Lodge and Thomas Flegler,” he said.

“They tried to move Lodge in the off-season, they weren’t able to do it but I suspect one of those guys will be on the move because they need to free up cash, not only to keep Kotoni Staggs but I suspect to step up that move for Adam Reynolds in the coming weeks

With Laurie at the back and Doueihi in the halves we are starting to look very strong and I think the game against souths shows what we are capable of if we can play consistently
Add TPJ and a new Centre and Wing with speed and we will have our team

I like TPJ when his head is switched on.

BTW he's a NSW man. He grew up in Newcastle

That's exactly why last night's results is more disappointing to accept.
It's a bitter pill to swallow that while we've show some competence in matching it with top teams it still doesn't change the fact we're coming second last.
I don't believe the ladder position is truly reflective of our ability, so it's a shame it's precipated from factors such as our slow starts and poor attitude or interpersonal skills from individuals.
Fingers crossed we continue to put on a united front.

Especially agree with your comments about the lower grades. It's an exciting time for us and the club is only going to go from strength to strength due to the quality and depth of talent...hopefully we can get it right this time around.

He’s not playing first grade at Red Hill for a reason - steer well clear of him or we will just keep making the same poor decisions.
