Despite failing to land a big-money signing in recent season, Maguire assured fans that he is constantly in talks with players at other clubs who like what they're seeing at the Tigers. 

"There are a lot of players that I know want to come to this club," Maguire said.

"I do talk to a lot of players. A lot of players are signed at certain clubs and they talk to me about what’s going on at the Wests Tigers.

"A lot of people know that the club is moving in a direction and we’re building a foundation. And there are a lot of players out there that like what they’re seeing

Look Madge so far has only been turned down by Mitchell, DWZ, Naden, Jac, Chn, Zac Lomax, maybe Surgess, AJohnston, M Moylan in 2025 we are gunna build a ripper team when all these guys join us... Hold still guys we are only years away from making the 8

Madge is no good player magnet, more a good player repellant, and it is a major concern despite what some say.

I'm concerned about the same thing. However, I do wonder if our new approach to not pay overs to players has more to do with it.

Sure, Cleary was able to sign players, by paying Josh Reynolds 800k a season, Packer 700k a season and Mbye 900k a season. I'm sure if we offered JAC 900k a season for 4 years, he would have come here.

Assuming an estimated north of $2m to spend next year, my three big targets for us would be:

1. Dale Finucane - not flashy or exciting but exactly what we need to put some starch in the middle with a 19 year old hooker. Played in 5 grand finals in 8 years with dogs and storm. Winner. Off contract and Packer cash would almost get it done.

2. Joey Manu - Just a class act. Genuine strike in the centres, defence rock solid and at a pinch can play full back and succeed . Winner. When they re-sign Sam Walker they will have some pressures (already upgraded Kear, Angus etc.) and he should be our priority #1. Not off contact juts yet but the pressure will mount. Bj Leilua money plus some extra cream.

3. Xavier Coates - storm might already have this locked away but blow them out of the water with a 4 year deal at $500k per year (similar to Fergo money). In 2 years time he will be the most dangerous target in the air in the comp and has top 3 speed in the comp. Exactly what we need.

See how the spine develops with those three and then make a call on Brooks at the end of 2022.

out of those if we got one of finucane or manu I would be ecstatic. Would love Manu more but think Finucane is more realistic

Latrell definitely knocked us back because he didn't want to come here. Mixed reports on JAC offers, so hard to know what is true.

The strong remain strong just this time a traditionally strong team is being systematically pulled apart. Reece Walsh, Coates, Simpkin, Walker and potentially Staggs are players no club can afford to lose and remain competitive.

That is bad news. When WTs decides not to offer Leilua another contract it is because the money will be spent on retaining one of our great youngsters and beating off offers from stronger clubs.

Latrell said on Matty Johns show (i think it was) he didn't want to be the star that everyone relied on to make the "play". Can understand that.

Straight up money . The dogs came in late offering way more money after we agreed to terms . We could have matched , but we obviously didn’t think he would move the needle, in a way that would warrant paying a winger that amount of cap percentage . Time will tell if that was the right choice. Judging by the dogs this year , I’m thinking it might have been .
He’s obviously not with them , but rather paying backs that kind of coin is drought with danger , if you don’t have the engine room sorted first
