If we are serious about building a youth team of hot shots then Hynes, B Smith and Dale we should throw the cash book at.

Get 1 and nothing will change but get all 3 and the culture is a big lift with a mix of years of youth from a kick ass culture.

Dale has a few years left and we need a tough nut in the forward pack. Smith is a future leader of a forward pack, his energy and hunger is like nothing else. Hynes yeah sure it’s a fence buy but with AD at center, laurie/hynes at 5/8/fullback we have a very dangerous attacking options than anything else we will find & gives times for the younger kids to come through.

If you want to play with the big boys you go out and grab a few of their crop.

Re Hynes I was up in the air at the start of the year on him but his game is really maturing at a fast rate. His speed, passing on both sides but most of all his work rate (his field coverage in attack is everywhere and his defending is rarely out of position) are all superior to AD or Laurie at the moment. Yes sure some of that is due to Melbourne being Melbourne but the kid can play.

Kev was the worst centre i have ever seen in a tigers jumper.I was overjoyed when he left he couldnt tackle a witches hat

I have said a few times that Kev was actually good when he made a tackle. His big problem was never being able to stay at home and they just ran through the gaps when he got in front of the ball. His missed tackle stats would be quite good. It's the dropped his guts numbers that were the problem.
