People seem to be under the impression we should keep Mbye after 1 decent game against one of the worst teams in the Comp. even if he stays this year, we are not making the 8, let’s be real. This is the first genuine option we’ve had to get rid of him and we need to take it

If someone is offering to take him next year, and it's relatively favourable $$$ wise and contingent upon him going this year, I'd let him go now.

Yep dragons want him this week! But the only issue is the contract they are offering is if mybe goes this year. I highly doubt the tigers would let him leave this year. Which means there’s a risk st George might not offer him a deal from next year. Meaning he could be stuck with us next year. Bit risky both ways. Interesting times ahead.

Win Win for both clubs especially with the Dragons with list challenges right now.

We can cover for him in 2021 and spend his m $$$$$ somwhere Im sure

Tough one, if we let Mbye go then Doueihi goes to 6 and we are short a quality centre or winger. Reserve grade are doing well but I don't think Cooper, Hoffman, Fitzgibbon or any of their outside backs are up to first grade yet.

Keeping him might take away our chances of freeing ourselves of his contract though. Tough decision for the club indeed

What about a trade? We give them a few names we would like and see what happens.

A trade would be the best way to go, maybe grab one of their young centres or wingers.

The young 5/8 who had his debut last year, Jayden Sullivan, I wished at the time we had him. I'm not sure where he is but has to be a better option than Norman.

It's simple.
If we keep him we could be stuck with him next year.
Just get rid of him and celebrate.
For those saying he played well last game please re-watch the game.
He was O.K. for 20 minutes but went back to being Mbye for the rest of the game. That included his usual trick of defending in no man's land and waving at players as they ran by him.
Let's just accept this gift from God.

I disagree. Madden is unproven and unlikely to play 80 NRL minutes any time this year. AD has shown he's not a mature 6 and is better at centre. Walters is not a first choice 6, doesn't have NRL fitness and could be gone this year. Simpkin can play 14 but is still a year or two away from being a quality first grader.

The only problem most people have with Mbye is his price tag and I agree with this - I've always said he's overpaid. This doesn't mean he's not needed this year.

Unless we are willing to write off this year we are one injury away from major problems.

Panic offloading is just as bad as panic buying.

He put himself in the shop window months ago and Saints have been the only nibble. They love recycling busted players.
This may be the only opportunity to rid ourselves of this albatross.

From a fans perspective it's easy to let go of Mybe not sure if that is the case for the coach. He will be judged on the teams performance every week and is still in striking distance of the eight. Weakening an already struggling squad to help strengthen another team you are competing against is not ideal.

Our effort was good against Newcastle and St George but we came up against terrible opposition that flattered us. If the Warriors turn up I think we’re going to cop a towelling unfortunately.
