I think DWZ form has stalled at the Dogs and wants out.....the NZ team and Madge connection may be what he is needing...he played great before going to the cesspool known as the Bulldogs...
Could be a very good signing or an ordinary signing....just remember some on here reckoned that Joe O had nothing to offer and under Madges guidance is now playing origin....

It’s 50/50, could come good like Joe O or fall off a cliff like BJ.

He’ll be training against Nofo and the likes ?

Its all a punt these days Avo,but as a wise man told me once "you have to be in the cart to fall out"....

I'd prefer a short term contract. No problem with signing him on a one and a half year deal but the extra year is a risk and is not needed. It's funny, I was disappointed we lost out to the Dogs when he went there and thought he'd be good for us but he's been terrible at the Dogs, basically a liability. Which is also surprising because he was pretty good for them when he first joined them. He was one of the most exciting attacking players in the game when he was in form a couple of years ago then stopped being able to catch the ball and then his confidence was shot and now he is in awful form.

People saying he'll be better for coming here are losing sight of the fact that we're rubbish too.

Do you support the WTs or are we just rubbish until we get in the finals...we may have been in a bad position for awhile now but most of us can see that the team and club are heading in the right direction...yeah its been tough but I never consider my team or club rubbish because they had fallen on tough times...

It just takes longer for us to get going....

Why is it racist …?

Claiming that every single member of 2 races lies about their age is obviously untrue and derogatory. Believing that an entire race all think the same and act in the same way is one of the definitions of racism

You’re an idiot !

That's pretty bold coming from a guy that does not understand the basic concept of racism.

Have you ever played junior league or are you just president of the pc brigade?

I played League and Union for my high school in South West Sydney. I am not sure why that is relevant.
Political correctness is not a Liberal plot to annoy you. The world would be a much better place with more tolerance and less discrimination.

Talks between Bulldogs & Tigers with DWZ advanced quickly over the weekend, strong chance he's playing for us against Eels in round 14.
Money being the biggest issue for 2022, dogs expected to chip in around the $300-$350k mark, Tigers offering this season & 22/23

Thanks @THE_POM , are we looking at anyone else??

Brisbane have closed the door on Issako (For now), don't think they expected the backlash from the well documented trip, Every chance Walters will still be released to free up another roster spot.
James Roberts has all but sealed his option being activated for 2022. Leilua not looking likely he'll be here, was briefly discussed that they'll let the option expire & then re-negotiate terms with BJ on a lesser deal but have to see if he's keen on that.
Discussion with re-signing Luciano have begun & everyone involved is confident something will be confirmed prior to November 1st

Thanks Pom, hope we’re not paying JTJ any more money, apart from finishing a couple of tries on the weekend, what has he done?! Needs to prove he actually wants to be a footy player. I hope we hold off for another month.

His option for 2022 is only 50k more than this year.

But he's still done nothing to warrant an extension at this stage. Friday was his first decent game, and even then he wasn't targeted in defence once all game. Did he even make a tackle?

Even if he's cheap he takes up a squad position that isn't going to the likes of Ogden. We already have Hoffman and Kei next season taking up space next season, we can't fill out the squad with a whole heap of sub par players.

100% BB - surely we should be giving the likes of these priority and spending the dollars in other key positions?!

It’s like we just want to make the same mistakes over and over. Average, mid to late 20s players and forget everyone else.

Why do we even bother with a youth push?

100% BB - why do we even bother with a youth strategy that seems to be working? Targets of average mid to late 20s that nobody else want.

There's been a massive focus on youth and junior development but you can't fill your whole squad with them, you need some experienced first graders.

Same mistakes over and over. We embarked on a proper youth strategy a couple of years ago which seems to be working and now we are bringing in average players who really aren’t worth the prices they are asking and being discarded by others for a reason, mind you. That’s not how youth get experience in first grade.

What duds have we signed and who's spot are they taking.... we desperately need a winger, what young winger is standing out?

Talau can barely catch a footy and we can't afford to have him in first grade. DWZ fixes that problem. Madge has clearly shown he's willing to give rookies a go regardless of who's in the top 30, stop worrying about things that haven't happened.

Your whole team can't just be rookies who are finding their feet, you won't win games then the best ones leave for the big clubs - it's all about balancing youth and experience.

Madge and hartigan have been massive in the youth department, they know what they're doing in that regard. No need to worry about it just because we are wanting to sign a 25 year old New Zealand international in a position we desperately need. We've still got plenty of spots in our 30 next year

DWZ will be our experienced player dropping balls and playing the ball backwards.

The offload DWZ threw last week that lead directly to the Panthers try was classic Wests Tigers play, we must have seen that play and thought it’s a match made in heaven.

No need to use imagination.

DWZ, when in form, runs like a lunatic into defences. He is big and fast - plays perfect “Madgeball”. My guess he will play on the other wing to Noffa and do those dirty hitups to complement Noffa. He is however very suspect in the air and makes Clanger type errors (play the ball the wrong way).

He was bought to the dogs as a marquee signing but that was a mistake as he us a pure ball runner and doesn’t really ball play. He has fallen off radars being in such a team like the Dogs but with a simple game plan and role to play, it is well within DWZ’s capabilities to turn his form slump around.

Just looking ahead..... we have 22 players now signed for next season (includes Gildart and the COs on JTJ and Joey).
Of those coming off contract this year I would look at re-signing only Liddle, Mikaele and Seyfarth. Let go of Walters, MCK, Cini, Amone, Packer.

Amone? Why?

Amone has played good games in reggies had one short stint against St George should get more game time over the coming weeks then we can form an opinion

I agree that we haven't seen anything of him at the top level, and be very happy if he proves me wrong, however my thought on Amone was that we are reasonably well covered for props/middles (assuming resigning of Mikaele and Seyfarth) with Tamou, Twal, Uto, Musgrove, Offa as well, plus some good young guys in reggies that are coming through.
Considering that we may have only 4-5 spots, as I mentioned, available to buy in players, if we were to use one spot for a middle we should be looking at a top flight, gun middle and I am not sure Amone is that guy. Otherwise perhaps we should be using those spots for at least one more edge forward and a few better backs.

You do understand there's a whole reserve grade side that needs middles as well yeah?

Yeah! Aiming a little higher than using up those spots in our top 30 for reggies players. I am suggesting top 17 players is who we need if we are fair dinkum about finals.

Finals for this season?

Not sure why everyone’s whining. We could possibly get an international level player who’s still young?

Yes he hasn’t been that impressive at the dogs, but who has? Flanagan, cotric and the dude from reynolds aren’t doing anything spectacular and half of you guys wanted them.

Dallin was very impressive at the panthers and only left due to a fallout with Cleary (that’s a match made in heaven for us) he does the dirty runs and loves putting on a hit. Brings experience for us!!

The people complaining saying that this will effect our juniors.. are you guys the same people that complain when our rookies make
Mistakes, the amount of whiners that complain when Talau makes 1-2 mistakes a game even when he has a strong game have grown in the last few weeks.

We need a good mix of experience and juniors, I would like to see 1-2 spots for our juniors to play consistent first grade footy if they earn it, I do believe we gotta keep Talau in the team for the future as he’s our best junior atm.

I doubt Joey will be here next year! Mybe will be gone. Honestly probably release or lose 1-2 junior’s, I reckon Hoffman will be gone.

Btw we got offa from the wooden spooners last year and now he’s playing origin, I can see similar things happening for Dallin.
