And herein lies the issue - we or rather the club believes its a problem we cN buy our way out of. Currently we have no soul/nucleus of a team. I was previously advocating for Signing tpj. But in reflection although he's a damaging ball runner I'm not sure he "wants" to be here.

We have to find a solution from within. This is no longer an issue we can throw money at. Anyone coming here is stained and a career graveyard and players know it

No more plodders, retiree's or sycophants. We have the cattle coming next year. Buying anyone from Australia is currently exacerbating the problem. We have bought 2 people from England who both have a point to prove and more importantly not a part of the rot that is 2021 NRL. Here's hoping it works

There has only been about 6 and to my mind only 1 of them has had success at WT. Harry Grant.
I might add, his circumstances were different weren’t they.


More interestingly and I would bow to those who have a greater memory for these types of things than me - can anyone provide an example of **any** Storm player who has left the Storm that has been an absolute **standout** at another club (with the obvious exception of Cronk and GI - who would be successes just about anywhere) ??
I reckon the list is much longer of players who subsequently disappeared..... happy to be proven wrong...

$800k 3-4 year deal ….. just watch the punters on here scream when that goes sour. He is a solid $400k- $450 k for 2 years with club option on third … option. Nothing more or we have another Packer on our hands.

We could totally do both . Anyone saying we couldn’t is losing their mind playing moneyball.
Finucane will not get 800k . I see him around the 600k mark . It’s basically a 1v 1 for packer . And we have the cap space to absorb TPJ on top of that , due to Pascoe deciding to boast to a newspaper about Farah.

We have no one else in our pack who is on anywhere near that coin . The most would be probably Joffa on about 450k. Who else is anywhere near that ?
The roosters even with their sombrero , would have Chrichton , JWH, and multiple others on at the very least 450k. Included in the cap . Those 2 mentioned would be on 700-800k. Not to mention Cordner this year , radley resigned after being highly sort after , same with tuponiua.

Cowboys have Hess McLean and Taumalolo, the storm have the Bromwich brothers and Asofa , finucane didn’t resign last time for nothing either .

We all know about how much arrow is on , same with burgess , and Sua didn’t come cheap .

My point is there’s plenty of cap for both .
My thing against finucane , is more to do with we have a finucane 2.0 sitting right here already in seyfarth .

There’s a reason we looked infinitely better when he is on the field .

Also a hot take .... Leilua is not an edge forward , in fact would go amazing in the middle . But if he wants edge forward money , and to play there , than he needs to look elsewhere , as these current rules have turned the right edge , which is most teams primary attacking side , into touch football.
He can’t be carried . He was saved last year from brooks and his strong defence .
