A simple way to tidy up the whole TPA thing is to count ALL TPA's as part of the cap UNLESS the TPA is not aligned to a player's club (Meaning it follows the player wherever they go).

It would quickly separate legitimate TPA'S from cap rorting TPAs

Strike centre with next level speed and just oozes X factor, with the sheer strength and meter eaters we have on the wing with both Nofoaluma and Ken it could cause a lot of space and open footy for “the hammer” and at ONLY 19 could develop to be a superstar player and grow with the rest of the young boys here…..

Cowboys look to be a shambles rn and have no direction at all, Tamolulo looks like he’s declining and will struggle to compete - so maybe a matter of money could be the driving force of getting his signature

I don't know ...he only seems to look the goods when he plays clubs at our level .....

To look as good as he does at 19 with a team like the cowboys who lack direction as an outside back is super impressive

Hard for him to perform against the top teams when they’re getting pumped, super talented player and has the skill set that we lack in our backs which is speed and X factor…. Unless Gebbe turns out good

Don’t know if I’m prepared to wait another 3 years, with his peak years of development 19-23 being taken from him (deservedly so) with no football repetition and games being played I’m afraid his career as a top line footballer is over

What does the club do for his family or more specifically his niece? Family is very important to him as is being close to them (Beaudesert) he is in the “perfect place” words from his mouth & is about to sign a contract upgrade that will keep him at the Titans for another 5 years. In terms of the Tigers he has no feelings good or bad towards them. The Tigers having high regard for anyone or anything means nothing at this point of time they have no pull at all & are closer to bottom feeders rather than the top echelon of clubs. The club needs needs to gamble on young up & comers who are looking for an opportunity & hope they hit paydirt hopefully that is what Sheens & Kimmorley are going to bring to the table.

I don’t know where that comes from as he is going to be one of the faces for a community youth program the Titans are about to go public with.

He is implying that as no extension has been arranged for either player to this date. They would be free to negotiate from Nov 1. As will about another 20 players.

This does not mean he has been given permission to talk to other clubs.

Hartigan and Co obviously have a system in place which value players, hence preventing the mistakes of recent past.

HOWEVER, we're not the Roosters and our recruitment valuations need to be modified to reflect where we're at as a club. We're not a destination club.

So, instead of valuing a player as a proportion of the entire cap (EG 10mil), the Tigers need to quarantine a portion of our cap for marquee Signing(s) top ups - say $1mil.

You've got no choice but to pay overs on a few players to turn the tide - and obviously the key is choosing the right player(s) to do so.

Point is, you can still afford to pay overs provided it's part of a concerted effort to manage the entire cap.

Cleary's contract management didn't work but neither is our current approach.

I hope he is factoring in the 10-25% "It's the tigers" surcharge in his valuation.

Looking through the players off contract this year, no one really stood out besides Angus Cricthon but that’s a pipe dream

So looked at the following year knowing they’d be able to talk to clubs in only 3-4 months from now and saw a few names which could make a difference to this team like Mo and Papalili whom I thought would be gettable due to the upgrades they’re expected to receive

Usually when a player agrees to sign with a club for the following year, the teams would be inclined to releasing them earlier and get them off there books.

I don't think it would be uncommon for a Brisbane based company to have a clause that would want the player in Brisbane. They company would lose the value of the TPA if the player is no longer in Brisbane, why would they want to sponsor a Sydney based player?

When he signed with the Broncos. That was his salary plus his TPA which was or wasn’t legally obtained but for the purposes of the argument we’ll say it was.
Broncos salary $600, local TPA $100k.
Might have to factor in the cost of living as well between the two cities.

So in all he agreed to a contract at $700k.

He doesn’t want to loose anything there.

I saw an ad the other day with Munster. Addo-Carr and Welsh..can’t remember what for but they had no Storm gear on.. it’s independent of the Storm..

What did you think of watching a real winger in action last night when Olam after picking up the loose ball his first thought was to get it to JAC? This is the problem with Maguire. First thought is hitting it up rather than finishing from anywhere on the field.

Trust me mate I'd rather have JAC than Maumalo but we needed a winger and he was the best on the market. I doubt he's on big coin so if we could sign a gun winger he could take a back seat.

We missed JAC, the Bulldogs got him. Coates was on the move but we end up with Maumalo.

With everything goiing on at the raiders I would love to see us go after Tapine and Hodgson. We need a backrower and clearly Tapine doesent want to be their but is an absolute talent

We also need a better hooker and an older one like Hodgson would be a great mentor for Simpkin.

If we had Tapine at lock and then Sironen on an edge with Hodgson at Hooker our pack looks much better then it does this year
