Vaughn is an idiot despite what people do or don’t think about these rules they are the same for everyone, NRL player or not. He feels he’s more privileged than the rest of greater Sydney he got exactly what he deserved IMO,he could have put the whole competition in jeopardy. I’m all for having good players here and I’m happy to give players a second chance but this isn’t his first rodeo with a covid breach. Even on minimum wage I’d tell him to get stuffed, but that’s just my opinion.

Okay what about the rest of the team that were at his house.

All self entitled imbeciles he’s just the instigator of them.

A simple way to tidy up the whole TPA thing is to count ALL TPA's as part of the cap UNLESS the TPA is not aligned to a player's club (Meaning it follows the player wherever they go).

It would quickly separate legitimate TPA'S from cap rorting TPAs

Umm thats the currnet rule

Then why is TPJ supposedly banging on about the club he signs with, needs to meet his current TPA’s as well?

He’s not He wants the value of those paid in his salary..ie a guaranteed..

Someone on here said the TPA’s should follow, because that’s the rules? Is that not the case?

Also, can a TPA be stopped, say mid term for any reason, by the the entity who initiated the TPA?

TPA's are meant to be free from the club so can have any clauses the company and player agree to. I don't think it would be uncommon for a Brisbane based company to have a clause that would want the player in Brisbane. They company would lose the value of the TPA if the player is no longer in Brisbane, why would they want to sponsor a Sydney based player?

Yep, that’s what I thought, so if what we are hearing about TPJ is true, he wants his now missing TPA money included in a new contract, then that could be a sizeable increase? Oh well, it is what it is.

We don’t do TPA’s as far as I know, do you know why?

The TPA’s you are talking about no clubs do.. that is for a the player and or manager to source..

I saw an ad the other day with Munster. Addo-Carr and Welsh..can’t remember what for but they had no Storm gear on.. it’s independent of the Storm..

What about the Musashi ad where Munster is shown in a shirt with the Storm logo on it? I thought individual TPA's couldn't feature any clubs apparel/logo etc?

Musashi sponsor the Storms

Club third party sponsor isn’t it?

Is that what you think this is about?
Do you think it might be about a player deliberately breaking a law, putting his club and the competition in jeopardy?
Could it be about reckless, selfish, repeated infractions by the same player?
This is not the political thread or the anti vaxer thread or the doomsday prepper thread.

How dare a bloke have some people over his house lock him up. Don’t believe everything you see in the media

He’s admitted it.

Whether we like it or not, rules are rules and I am surprised you would risk such a huge salary to break them?

It’s just so hypocritical with de belin still prancing around all the other wife beaters and other players that have done much worse. But because the media tells us we have to hate in this bloke everyone does does his wife and kids really deserve to cop all these media pressure now it’s sickening

Everyone understands that having a BBQ with your mates isnt the crime of the century. Everyone with half a brain also understands how much of a privilege it is to get paid hundreds of thousands to play footy whilst many other peoples businesses are closed and going broke and how fragile that privilege is because one moron could bring it all down and a sport and business responsible for 10's of millions and thousands of jobs could be stopped tomorrow, just like many other businesses.

Agree but it’s the government fault small business is bleeding not Paul Vaughan. Government are making all these laws.

ahem....cough. What rule did the Government implement that resulted in him being sacked? The Government law resulted in him getting fine $1K.

The NRL & St GIlly rule resulted in him getting sacked. The NRL & St Gilly didnt have to bring in those laws, they could have not had those laws and Paul Vaughn and all his mates would be home on Jobkeeper.

Gyms. Cafe, events and all the business that cannot trade at the moment are bleeding and if you believe what the media are saying lock down is going to be longer. Also have little government support now

That makes what Vaughn did all the more irresponsible and stupid...,no?

Yes it’s all Vaughn fault.

@THE_POM @tigerballs @CCTW

Since we've missed TPJ and likely Finucane, any ideas on who we are targeting? And the progress of talks for HSS or Sua?

I swear I get more and more pessimistic about our recruiting ability as time goes on. It's honestly ridiculous, though not surprising, how many players were are in the hunt for but miss out on.

I would have fined him double then.

Seriously mate. He knew the rules, he has broken them and been fined before. He knowingly broke them again. He put thousands of people jobs at risk. He is a moron and deserved the sack.

Feel sorry for his family, they are going to cop a financial whack.

Just your old school garden variety sponsor.

![storms.png](/assets/uploads/files/1625568727132-storms.png)

Tradie is there as well. Someone said that wasn’t a club sponsor as there was no Storm logo in the add.

Why would there need to be? The ad isnt advertsing the Storm, its advertising Tradie.

No argument from me.

Step in his shoes try view the world with eyes that think Covid is rubbish.

Sigh... why would anyone want to enter the world of fantasy?

We have freedoms others can only dream of but we can't enjoy them until we've controlled the pandemic that's killed over 4 million people to date. Like it or not, the people abusing the rules are the ones causing the lockdowns to extend.

Wear a mask, get a vaccine, social distance and stay at home when required - it's not that hard. The quicker the naysayers realise this needs to be done the quicker we'll be done.

If the government come out and assured no more lock downs but we want everyone vaccinated I’d do it so the little end of town are no longer impacted.

But the government approach has been terrible trying to eradicate Covid with forcing lock downs on entire cities while protecting high end of town.

Look at the nrl for example how long can we continue to halt junior development. We need to learn to live with it.

But do we want to be winners or the nice club

It's not about being "nice". It's about recruiting players of good character who will sacrifice for the greater good.
Melbourne are the template.
They recruit players who are willing to do a job for the team. The no dickhead policy creates unity and a sense of team. It creates a winning club.

Mickey Mouse covid laws please. He’s not a criminal. I’d sign him ASAP. Not everyone believes the media and government Covid propaganda people should respect that. Don’t we have any freedoms anymore?

Is that what you think this is about?
Do you think it might be about a player deliberately breaking a law, putting his club and the competition in jeopardy?
Could it be about reckless, selfish, repeated infractions by the same player?
This is not the political thread or the anti vaxer thread or the doomsday prepper thread.

How dare a bloke have some people over his house lock him up. Don’t believe everything you see in the media

He’s admitted it.

“From Fox NRL: ‘Stupid, unexplainable, irresponsible’: Dumped Vaughan’s grovelling apology”

Who elses fault would it be for him to host a BBQ with 12 of his mates against the law and the rules of his employment?

I was talking about covid in general and pretty much all unhappiness in the world

Paul Vaughn is responsible for COVID and all the unhappiness in the world?

I would have fined him double then.

Seriously mate. He knew the rules, he has broken them and been fined before. He knowingly broke them again. He put thousands of people jobs at risk. He is a moron and deserved the sack.

Feel sorry for his family, they are going to cop a financial whack.

Agree mate but the rest of the players that were there contract should be torn too.

Im surprised they didnt punt DeBelin. I think the fact that it is Vaughn second IDENTICAL offence and the fact that he lied to both the club and the integrity unit I think might have been the last straw.

Does that mean you are not looking to get vaccinated to prevent transmission but complaining about lockdowns that are implemented when the virus starts to spread?

Since we've missed TPJ and likely Finucane, any ideas on who we are targeting? And the progress of talks for HSS or Sua?

I swear I get more and more pessimistic about our recruiting ability as time goes on. It's honestly ridiculous, though not surprising, how many players were are in the hunt for but miss out on.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen any of these blokes reply when posts like this come up, they give info when they have it.

Sign of the times that we’re excited about the potential signing of those 2. Replacing Mediocrity with more mediocrity

We're not signing either of them. Both asking for money the WT are not willing to pay.
