Anyone know Vaughn player manager?

Why? Do you really think the NRL would register a new contract for Vaughn?

Yep he just has to serve his 8 game ban

He won’t get a new contract registered until at least his current, now torn up, contract is complete. At that time he’ll have to serve his 8 match ban. Even then I think his time in the NRL is done.

he can sign a contract for next year?

You can imagine the outcry from the public if he did. His best bet is to go OS.

I don't think there will be much of an outcry, he will earn much less than he was going to.

Paul Vaughan’s behaviour is unacceptable..yes.
But, to suggest his NRL career is finished and clubs are now “put off”, is absurd.
Front-row talent is in my opinion, scarce at present. There will be more than one club CEO highly aroused over his sudden availability for 2022.

Kent was pointing out the system is a joke. The fact that Melbourne could get him 500-650 even less IMO but clubs like us have to pay overs 950 to get players of that standard show system is not working

The system isn't a Joke Tony and in fact works very well........for some clubs.

If a particular club/Wests Tigers has something special to offer that is attractive to players, the players will come, and they will come without having to pay overs.

Luke Lewis was saying on ABC Grandstand over the weekend, any player that wants to play for the Storm
has to agree before signing, to do 2 weeks of Tradie manual labor of some sort.

At the end of the 2 weeks the Storm Recruitment Team have a chat to the player to let him know that manual labor could be there only choice for a job if they dont make a success of their NRL career.

So, If you choose Rugba League with The Storm we will pay you this [unders] $$$ amount, take it or leave it.
We all know what Melb Storm offers atm, so the player agrees to take unders $$$ because they want to play for The Storm.

Any player that isn't prepared to accept the Storm system right from the start, is either not offered a position or is weeded out soon after.

That way you get players that are dedicated and determined to do their best for The Storm.

I believe Wests Tigers are currently putting various pathways in place to be the attractive and special Club players want to play for.

Since the Marina Go era (NRL governance changes) came in there is no way we would sign someone like Vaughan after this incident. It’s like we have to be governed to the highest standard in a theoretical sense but the result is the falling away of the culture that bound the club together (the whole What does our club even stand for argument). We sit here with a poor roster that we can’t change but a player like Vaughan will just go to the sharks on a cheap deal and improve their squad. Meanwhile we stack our team with cleanskins like tamou and mbye

But we’ve signed Russell Packer and Zane Musgrove in that time?

I believe Wests Tigers are currently putting various pathways in place to be the attractive and special Club players want to play for.

The payoff for this will be in a few years time.

Marty Tapau is def available...but people have said he does not like us much after the past stuff. To be honest, he looks cooked. Wants 800 grand also. Would be a horribly bad signing by any club IMO. His career trajectory has English SL next stop written all over it...

Chammas has no idea what he is saying.

To be fair, I think he does. Griffin mentioned openly that Saints thought they had Mbye and that they actually expected him to be playing with them that weekend.

The deal was heavily in Saints favor 'this year'...but our season is going nowhere and losing Mbye 'this' year would have made zero difference.

And it would have meant no Mbye in 2022 (still paying a lot, but at least he would have been gone)

As it stands, his form has been so bad we may end up stuck with him in 2022 and his presence alone is a massive negative IMO.

As I said, everyone is just desperate for us to sign someone because we’ve missed out on so many, when really the only big loss is TPJ but barely for that reported money.

Only Finucane would legit improve us next season but I think we’re a better chance to win the comp this year than him joining. To go into next season with essentially the same roster bar 2 English recruits is as worrying as it gets. I too am desperate for some serious player movement but none of these lesser names mentioned would improve us.

agreed. as @jirskyr said, the market has had very few decent players on it that are off contract, which is compounded by the fact that we are playing terribly. better off waiting for it all to kick off after November 1 and try and grab somebody on the inevitable merry-go-round

Our big problem is Moses has checked out mentally...

800 plus next year...if he was really putting in and shining at 6 and trying hard when he was at 9 and 4, clubs would have felt like 300-400 + tigers pay half was a decent deal...

But he has legitimately checked out...to the point where every club with common sense will know that we will have to basically pay 80% just to get him to leave.

And if we don't, it will be another year of our marquee player stinking up the joint and bringing everyone down with him.
