Surely Hoops is off his head with his outrageous claims? I mean yeah sure maybe Tigers approached the Raiders and discussed a swap deal of sorts however does anyone honestly believe Tigers would propose Brooks/Mbye for Wighton/Hodgson? That’s a ridiculous proposal in any fantasy.

The reactions by that nuff Crawley and Vonnie were just as cringe worthy as if to say “yeah we expect a rubbish club like the Tigers to try something that dumb”. The smug looks on all their faces makes me wanna vomit.

Imagine a world where sports reporters and journos in general were held accountable for their dribble and faced defamation charges for printing/verbalizing false information about players/clubs.

To the best of my knowledge the players that Tigers discussed in the swap deal were Tapine or Hudson-Young and that young winger Smith-Shields as a swap for Brooks. This is from a mate who works for the Raiders in a clerical capacity. He even pissed himself at Hoops’ allegations and said he’s so far off the mark it’s not funny.

I think that sports journos should face deformation charges for certain things. Imagine if a journo made up stuff about an organisation like the Commonwealth Bank or some other big organisation. There'd be charges laid asap. These journos should not be making stuff up that damages the reputation of any club or player. If they do and its false, they face charges or spit out their source who gave them the info. I understand that journos can give an opinion, but if its the continual bashing or bullying of a club/player, then they get the flick. Atm it feels like journos are bashing us to sell stories to fill their back pockets and its not right.

Journos do not have to provide sources unless compelled to by a judge and rumours about sporting teams would be highly unlikey for a judge to compel a journo to reveal their source.

We all realize this however it doesn't make it any less acceptable. It's criminal that these nuffs can profit from dragging ones name and reputation through the mud potentially tarnishing ones reputation.

Lol the rugby league and contracts is a funny animal. We have to face reality. We have no idea what happens during negotiations. But what we do is that there are 3 types of payments. The agreed salary 1. And then there is the TPA 2. Both of which are registered with the NRL and then there is the 3rd component. The brown paper bag. Well this component dare I say is hidden and not disclosed and is most cases the difference between getting a signature or not!

Yea i think Arthur Laundy is ordering his paper bags from the same place Uncle Nick gets his. I also heard that Laundy had taken up golf.

Actually he’s always been a golfer.

Correct but I would like us as a club to call them out and stick up for our brand. I think if they know you will call them out on false info they will back off as its not a good look for them in there business.. Also put a smile on some fans faces.

If a journo wishes to proclaim such outrageous information then they should be made reveal their source. Maybe if there was some accountability in the industry then 1. Journos would think twice releasing false information. 2. Club insiders would reconsider leaking anything through fear of being named as the source.

YES definitely. Someone from the club please come out call them out on their BS. Call them liars, call them out for their lame journalism and maybe damage their credibility. We need to start sticking up for ourselves rather than having to provide answers to their lies. As if Bellamy or even Ricky would stand by and cop this. The jounos don't have the balls to take them on.

Yvonne your dumped

Ikin as the previous host of the show would never have joined the pile on ,being a much more mature person .

This swap story would have been OK'd by the producer Steve CRAWLEY for Hooper and Paul (Thanks for the job Steve) Crawley.

Interesting on SEN Jimmy Smith yesterday was bagging out Michael Chammas for picking on WT and his co presenter Katie Brown sticker up for her mate Michael chammas. Apparently yesterday afternoon Chammas rang Jimmy Smith and told him he is definitely getting mail from inside the club. Jimmy Smith then said on air this morning the discussion was amicable between he and Chammas after he had a go at him yesterday.
It does sound like someone in the club is tipping off some of the journo's

Best way to weed out the mole within the club is for the CEO to drip feed over time a series of completely false pieces of information to various members of the organization and wait for it to find it's way into Chammas' hands. Once it does you have your mole.

spot on, the journo's could not make this stuff up fair dinkum someone in the club is telling them something

Well it’s been happening for years now.
Two players that have been around the squad for that amount of time are Nofoaluma and Brooks.
The interesting thing is Nof only ever gets publicity from the media in a positive light around contract time.
Brooks always getting bashed.
I’d put money on Nofoaluma being the culprit.

Even if we were to get Milf at bargain basement prices, where would you play him?

I don't think he's better than Brooks or Doueihi in the halves based on current form.

I don't think he's better than Laurie at fullback based on his current form.

Would you move any of those three from their positions to give him a go? I wouldn't.

Looks like that will be Parramatta's problem.
Same question for them.

Thats the only way you'd consider him and i certainly hope we arent. But if Mbye moves on then he could theoretically slot into his spot. But then theres the question about where they see Hastings going forward what that means for Brooks. Im guessing the smoke around Brooks is real and we are banking on Hastings and Doueihi in the halves.

I've been thinking about this too. I think he'd be a fairly good 14 if we managed to move on Mbye as well as a decent back up fullback/half. I wouldn't be moving Laurie/Doueihi/Brooks.

i wouldn't be letting brooks go just yet
i would like to see hastings get a run around first before we let our only halfback go, if he doesn't fit the team dynamic at hfb then test him out as a ball playing lock, or brooks and hastings in the halves doueihi centre
plenty of options to explore before letting brooks go

at the moment cant see mbye going anywhere

Even if we get rid of Mbye, we still have Hastings, Brooks, AD, and Madden as halves options.

Potentially he could be good for fullback depth, but I'd rather that roster spot go to a promising centre/winger. We need all the depth we can get in the outside backs.

My concern, is that we don't have anyone who can handle fullback if Laurie is out for any reason. It is such an important position today, we need a quality winger/centre who can play FB. At a cheap price only he would be valuable, i think he is underrated.

Good point and agree.. I don't want to keep moving AD around as he clearly wants the 6 and deserves it.. If we keep moving him around he might get sick of it and say I'm out when contract is up.. He is our future captain in my eyes.

that's why i was hoping for DWZ before we got ken doll; nowhere near first choice fullback but if an injury strikes laurie at least we have someone who knows what they are doing there

With the signing of Hastings we have ample cover in the halves.

We need a better second rower than Garner, and need better centres than the plethora we have.

Our attack is fine, I wouldn't go after Milf. I'd be going after defensively strong centres, second rowers, and Watson.

Put Stef and Mikaele in the front row with a rotation of Twal and Tamou (only because he's captain, Seyfarth would be my preference) , with Luc, new second row, and Watson filling out the pack. Ofa on the bench.

Any news on if we're targeting Klemmer if the rumours of his restlessness are true?

I will probably get laughed at for this but I reckon Nofoaluma can move to fullback when Laurie goes down. Then the defence just slides one out. Nofo is good under high ball and good kick returns. Laurie's defence isn't any better than Nofa's.
I reckon this is why we don't need to pick Mbye for the sake of covering positions, it's a waste of a spot on the team when we've got guys like Jake Simpkin, Kiah Cooper, Zac Cini, Jock Madden, Alex Seyfarth & Shawn Blore who need first grade experience.
