Roosters fans seem to love Egan Butcher, makes it all the more sweeter if we sign him. Surely the offer of a starting role plus a lot more cash would be super enticing

Maybe he has been promised a starting spot next year with them with Liu leaving

Just means if Watson heads across, more or less Egan will be let go you'd assume.

Egan also has a kicking game, not sure if anyone seen that last weekend - perfect kicking game for someone thats on the edge.

One kick does not make a kicking game I'm afraid.

I'm worried about our lack of young halves coming through. typically we've always had someone making noise even if they didn't come good, i.e Lui, Mulcahy, Miller, Brooks, Moses, Madden etc.

despite the JF side doing well, there's been no major wraps on Stevanovic and Hill, and while Taipari was in and around state cup, he hasn't looked like a player that you can say will play first grade 100%. it's a shame Tannous has been injured all year, would've been good to see how he handled it.

apart from that though, is there any young halves in our ranks that anyone's aware of that are potential first graders? Tyler Field has always had decent wraps on him as well, but he couldn't even crack the starting side for JF.

Hill looked pretty good to me. Your halfback is going well if you don't lose a game.

Also, Tannous should be back next year from his ACL. He's highly rated.

There are not too many players that make it in the NRL as a halfback under 22-23, so I'm more concerned around our outside backs coming through. Cleary and Sam Walker are notable exceptions.

On what i have seen of him he will be the weakest defender at the club next year

I thought Hill played well as well in the games that I saw, but like I said, he's not a player that has had massive wraps on him coming through the grades. not that you should ever base a player's talent off them, just that his progression has been far quieter. Camroux was the great white hope in a lot of respects, and we simply let him go.

Tannous seems as if he's got the attitude and talent to make a splash, hopefully he and Jordan Hill both come back firing from ACLs. both play touch for Wests out at Enfield as well, explains where a lot of their skillset comes from.

As horrifying as it is to say, i'm not sure he's an upgrade on what we have (on what i've seen of him this year). Defence is terrible, he's very small, and he's prone to errors.

Surely behind a few at the cr(h)ooks.
They don't lose any they don't want though.

I want him just for his name.

Hey .. I'm 100% with you on that one .. im very surprised we actually signed him .. I haven't seen anything of him that says he's gonna be a marquee signing for us .. :-(
