It’s called damage control. Madge Pascoe and a few others are trying to buy some optimism for the near future and keep their jobs. Even if we jag two more wins, it’s been a terrible year

Has it? When it started I predicted 10th. Were close. At the end of the day I'd rather develop young players then buy over the top players.

I would rather my team actually played finals football every now and than.
Scary stat, since Madge won the GF at Souths he has about a 35% win ratio and that includes a lot of games at Souths with plenty of big names.

Crazy as it is, 10th sounds good for us, but objectively it IS terrible.
Missing finals is failure.

Having said that, we haven't missed yet!!

We need to buy 2-3 quality stars. We just have to.

Reports have emerged both the Parramatta Eels and Manly Sea Eagles have entered a two-way fight for the immediate services of Cronulla Sharks' prop Aaron Woods.

It's understood that Woods won't be offered a new contract to stay in the Shire at the end of this season, and he is exploring his options elsewhere.

That’s right up there with the news of Moses M’s departure, in the good news stakes. We need leaders and Woods showed a few years ago that he not a leader…not even close

Interesting, so we cannot play finals:
* because we cannot play defence or
* because we cannot sign the most expensive players on the market?
The implies that either:
* only expensive players can play a good D, or
* we cannot sign, and don't look for the good defennders?

In 2019 he said we didn’t need a rebuild but now we’re starting a 4 year plan.

We had 4 years to plan for when our last 4 “marquee” players came off contract. Can’t replace them with one??? Not sure I expect much better for 2025.

if most on here cant see the young guys are learning and slowly understanding what it takes to play NRL then they should really get some valium and some drink ...because its going to take a little longer to completely field an NRL team to be competative for the years ahead....

I think everyone can see the narrative & know it makes sense the issue is it’s just most of us have heard this all before alot of times with terrible results mixed with when we finally had some great junior talent all our best talent ending up at the bigger clubs.

Until the start getting favorable results the hope is very limited.

Right? Nothing Madge is saying is particularly new. We had young guns in 2016, and still failed. I find it strange people on this forum question our uncertainty and scepticism of this club. They have led us into despair for a long, long time and now we have to wait even longer and the destination isn't even certain?

Deadset I give up with the negative nellies on here....we have an opportunity to make a big difference to what we are used to and yet there is constant negativity and despair from people....Its a game,its a club,its a team.....its not a death sentence if things dont pan out, at least Madge has more passion then some on here ....and they want to get rid of him....God bless the lot of you....

I’m with you on Madge, don’t think there’s a better option anyway, can the club get him a better roster though? Or will next gen get stars in their eyes?

You can call it a fluff article.....I prefer to call it as a professionals opinion of what he wants to deliver to the betterment of the club and the aspiring young NRL superstars to come from within the WTs...the man has a plan and a passion to make this club the great club it should be ...not the rabble it has been for over 10 years....

He has my support as long as he is coach of the great WTs...100 percent...and thats as a member not just a fan...

That particular article is a re-hash of the interview Madge did on Triple M. I am pretty sure he did not sit down for an interview with Fox, they scraped it from teh radio interview.

Exactly. Imagine if we signed Paulo, Lomax and Papali’i. We’d instantly be a top 8 team
