Geez we’re putting out some fluff articles lately aren’t we.

It’s called damage control. Madge Pascoe and a few others are trying to buy some optimism for the near future and keep their jobs. Even if we jag two more wins, it’s been a terrible year

Has it? When it started I predicted 10th. Were close. At the end of the day I'd rather develop young players then buy over the top players.

Crazy as it is, 10th sounds good for us, but objectively it IS terrible.
Missing finals is failure.

Having said that, we haven't missed yet!!

We need to buy 2-3 quality stars. We just have to.

Exactly. Imagine if we signed Paulo, Lomax and Papali’i. We’d instantly be a top 8 team

Is there an etiquette to down votes?

Would I be breaching any unwritten rule by starting to down vote posts in the SIGNING SUGGESTIONS AND RUMOURS that contains any of the following?

1. Fire Madge
2. Fire Pascoe
3. Fire Brooks
4. We lost Tedesco, Ado-Carr, Paps because x,y,z
5. (Insert painful negative non signing related post here)

I love general chat and banter… I’m just saying that some on this forum come across like a reunion of ghosts moaning a Sinead O’Connor tune at a funeral.

Breaching? Tsk Tsk! Far from it! :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:

Surprised you haven't been down voted (yet) for posting this!
Even in jest not one down vote?! I mean come on!

Helloooo out there????

Is this thing on??

I just wish some people would see what Madge and co are trying to do....we have missed out on finals for 10 years,we have bought players that were supposed to end our drought,we have failed to keep our pathways open,we have had topline players at the time of recruitment fail us through injuries.....
Madge is developing young talented players to be our future and yet there are people who want to sack him because of poor results...
if most on here cant see the young guys are learning and slowly understanding what it takes to play NRL then they should really get some valium and some drink ...because its going to take a little longer to completely field an NRL team to be competative for the years ahead....

There’s always next year with this mob

Good post!!!! Spot on!!!

https://www.zerotackle.com/titans-reportedly-sign-storm-hooker-for-2022-108643/

Interesting clickbait title.

Titans on the move for 3rd string Storm hooker, Aaron Booth.

Broncos signed NQ Forward, Corey Jensen?
Missed that news...

Jayden Nikorima returning to the NRL, within the Storm squad.

I've been doing it for a while - feel free. I have also foed some who have nothing positive or constructive to say. Nothing comes from non-constructive negativity and blaming.
Edit: I actually don't like the word foe as I really don't have anything against those people. I recognise they are entitled to their view but they need to understand the effect it can have on others.

A piece from the Courier Mail about players signed by NRL clubs from Langer Cup.
I have included Keebra & Marsden for the Tigers signings (Chris Faagutu was discussed on here last year)
KEEBRA PARK SHS

Two of the best Langer Trophy players this season come from Keebra Park SHS, a renowned hunting ground of NRL talent scouts.

Prop Herman Tofaeono (Wests Tigers) and hooker Blake Mozer (Broncos) were young guns who both made the Queenslanfd 16-18 years schoolboys merit team earlier in the season.

Other NRL contracted players with the Keebra squad were Immanial Kalekale (Titans) who is Tofaeono’s starting prop partner, edge backrower Seth Nikotemo (Titans) and middle forwards Del Wigmore (Panthers) and Arama Hau (Titans).

Pick of the crop: Dummy Blake Mozer is a gun.

Wavell SHS players Prinston Esera (L), Felix Faatili and Karl Oloapu (News Corp/Attila Csaszar)

MARSDEN SHS

Marsden SHS’s players will be spread across seven different NRL clubs, with South Sydney, the Storm, Titans, West Tigers, Canberra, Parramatta and the Brisbane Broncos sharing the talent.

The Rabbitohs has astute Queensland schoolboys merit fullback Leon Te Hau signed along with Braydon Teuila, while the Canberra Raiders snapped up pacy outside back Teapo Stoltman and the Storm signed quick silver winger Tea-Rani Woodman-Tuhoro.

But the Tigers have also swooped on captain Chris Faagutu, one of the players of the competition, and the reliable Kiernan Tempest who is a David Stagg-type player.

Parramatta have prop Lance Fualema and the Broncos edge backrower Nathaniel Tangimataiti, another Queensland schoolboy merit player.

But the Gold Coast Titans have been most active, securing Dominique Sandow,

Sione Foutika, Xavier Stowers, Will Semu and Taelon Te-Shiu Hopa.

Pick of the crop: Year 10 students Will Semu and Taelon Te-Shiu Hopa were exciting talents, but big prop Xavier Stowers has probably made the biggest impression.

LOOKS LIKE WE MISSED ANOTHER ONE

Reports have emerged both the Parramatta Eels and Manly Sea Eagles have entered a two-way fight for the immediate services of Cronulla Sharks' prop Aaron Woods.

It's understood that Woods won't be offered a new contract to stay in the Shire at the end of this season, and he is exploring his options elsewhere.

Ummmm…I think his Misses thinks it’s a good idea not to come back to ummmmm the Tigers…and ummm he wants certainty to know who the coach will be

Thanks. Despite not being officially linked to Keebra now we can still sign one of their very good young players. It seems like a good outcome as well as the young players from Wavell.

Two players from today's match I'd target, Peachey and Burns. Both very handy, would walk into our 17, and won't cost much

Don't mind Burns - would not touch Peachy with a barge pole.

If you go for gutho it will have to be minimum 850-900k to pry him away, at that cost he has to play fb, which means Laurie to 6 and Douehi to centre’s, lots of changes to fit him in

If we got Gutho (don't care either way myself), I would emphatically not move AD from 5/8.

Where that leaves Laurie I don't know. Terrible defender and would be a turnstyle in the backline.

Gutho is not better than Dane Laurie.

Forget him, move on.

We need to look at our strengths
Laurie
Douhie
Stefano
Blore
Talau
Leilua
Kelma Taulagi
Mamaulo
Seyfarth

These guys are the future, the group not to let go and to build your squad around.

The weakness

Nofoaluma
Cheekam
Brooks
Tamou
Mikaele
Roberts

Cut these guys from the squad and go after replacing their positions.

Give a year probabtion to the following guys who are 50/50 at this stage.

Ofahengaue
Cini
Twal
Liddle
Garner

That’s how I see it anyway.
There’s a lot of changes still to be made if anyone’s serious about getting competitive.

You lost me with Laurie is better than Gutho.

Forget him, don't need him, cost too much whatever, I could agree with you.

If you are saying Laurie will be better than Gutho in 4 years, that is one thing.

Laurie whilst showing great promise could not hold a match to Gutherson at this time.

Watson would definitely provide some versatility in that 14 role but I am hoping Hastings will be our guy. He is able to play in the halves and hooker, also as a lock and even cover for injuries in the backs. An extra ball player and general kicker adds value.

Might be ok in Reggies.
