Geez we’re putting out some fluff articles lately aren’t we.

It’s called damage control. Madge Pascoe and a few others are trying to buy some optimism for the near future and keep their jobs. Even if we jag two more wins, it’s been a terrible year

Has it? When it started I predicted 10th. Were close. At the end of the day I'd rather develop young players then buy over the top players.


Crazy as it is, 10th sounds good for us, but objectively it IS terrible.
Missing finals is failure.

Having said that, we haven't missed yet!!

We need to buy 2-3 quality stars. We just have to.

Exactly. Imagine if we signed Paulo, Lomax and Papali’i. We’d instantly be a top 8 team

Lomax isn't currently showing much. But maybe he needa a better team than Dragons to play his best. West tigers could be the team.

Honestly I hate Blocker now…

Instead of talking crap about us, why can’t he just go ahead and support us by going down to the club and offering assistance.

Not only that, maybe giving some of the people we’ve went after in recruitment like TPJ and Finucane and say hey, come join us.

Thought the same before this year, couldn't quite understand the hype around him, but watching him to start this season can confirm he's got 'it'.
Before he went down with the wrist injury in the game against us he was playing some serious football. Hits as hard as any centre in league and has a real competitive streak, not necessarily the quickest centre going round but so strong and smart, very similar to Mark Gasnier, the offload is always in play and he's very good in the air. I feel like his current form relates to either his time on the sidelines this year or maybe there is some truth to the in fighting rumors.
Regardless, if he ends up in a Tigers jersey next year, there won't be many on here doubting if the kid can play.

I do like Blocker, but reading all his crap lately and him saying it from his heart we need to improve doesn’t help where we are.

Get out there and actually talk to people or come into camp and train the young guys.

He’s played like 6 games this year. He was an injury away from the NSW centre last year

For the exact same reason Todd Payten has been treating his best player so poorly at the Cows...
He's on FAR TOO MUCH - for FAR TOO LONG. He was signed to be Fullback, That won't eventuate now - and 600k for a Centre of any level in this day and age is nuts!!

Any other fluid issues would be just that....

KEEBRA PARK SHS

Two of the best Langer Trophy players this season come from Keebra Park SHS, a renowned hunting ground of NRL talent scouts.

Prop Herman Tofaeono (Wests Tigers) and hooker Blake Mozer (Broncos) were young guns who both made the Queenslanfd 16-18 years schoolboys merit team earlier in the season.

Other NRL contracted players with the Keebra squad were Immanial Kalekale (Titans) who is Tofaeono’s starting prop partner, edge backrower Seth Nikotemo (Titans) and middle forwards Del Wigmore (Panthers) and Arama Hau (Titans).

Pick of the crop: Dummy Blake Mozer is a gun.

MARSDEN SHS

Marsden SHS’s players will be spread across seven different NRL clubs, with South Sydney, the Storm, Titans, West Tigers, Canberra, Parramatta and the Brisbane Broncos sharing the talent.

The Rabbitohs has astute Queensland schoolboys merit fullback Leon Te Hau signed along with Braydon Teuila, while the Canberra Raiders snapped up pacy outside back Teapo Stoltman and the Storm signed quick silver winger Tea-Rani Woodman-Tuhoro.

But the Tigers have also swooped on captain Chris Faagutu, one of the players of the competition, and the reliable Kiernan Tempest who is a David Stagg-type player.

Parramatta have prop Lance Fualema and the Broncos edge backrower Nathaniel Tangimataiti, another Queensland schoolboy merit player.

But the Gold Coast Titans have been most active, securing Dominique Sandow,

Sione Foutika, Xavier Stowers, Will Semu and Taelon Te-Shiu Hopa.

Pick of the crop: Year 10 students Will Semu and Taelon Te-Shiu Hopa were exciting talents, but big prop Xavier Stowers has probably made the biggest impression.

Thanks. Despite not being officially linked to Keebra now we can still sign one of their very good young players. It seems like a good outcome as well as the young players from Wavell.

It was the same even when we were officially tied to Keebra - we'd get a decent look at lots of their kids, but also large numbers of them would sign elsewhere. I think this is especially true now with the return and stabilisation of Gold Coast - there's a very obvious geographical reason why Gold Coast pick up so many Keebra kids.
