Roosters signing up Watson there is less of an opportunity there now for Egan Butcher. I think it’s a positive for the tigers as it may force his hand to leave. We need to keep on signing young talented players under the salary cap radar . That way we have more room to go after quality marquee players when they come on the market.

Exactly. His market value is probably around $400-450k a year anyway so it's basically the same offer. For equal money or near equal money I'd rather play at the Roosters than the Knights. He'll also be in contention for the 14 jumper in origin, especially after Koroisau's antics last year. Each origin game you play is $30,000 so if he's looking at it that way, it's a no brainer and that's not even taking into account the fact he'll probably be better off come his next contract negotiation as you said.

How do I put this . . . if you like that Mikaele has a mistake or 16 in him each game, you're gonna love Butcher.

What a stupid and reckless comment. The kid has had 2 errors all season - both in the most recent game.

If you're going to be so ignorant as to judge a kid based on a single game at least have the decency to warn people of your lazy-bias first.
