Dufty is dreadful. Sure he produces the odd attacking masterpiece however defensively he's like Nofo from Wish.

Gentleman you will not get player x until you pay y amount and be realistic about what we need to pay.
I want to live in Vaucluse but I only want to pay 700k for a 4 bedroom house.
Start getting real about how much a good player will cost guys

No it doesn’t mate. I think it is more management and the stigma attached to our club that we are a “basket case”.

I can't recall a team ever going after so many players and landing none of them. It must be some kind of record.

Have we gone after all of them, or has this forum said we have?

I don't mind if we miss players due to making realistic offers, not over-the-top/cause cap issues later type offers. Sure, we aren't getting many takers atm, but I love the ones that we have: Doehi, Joe, Mamolo, Blore, Tuki.

Pom said we’d gone after Butcher and advised us yesterday HSS was staying in Canberra. All the others were also confirmed on here by people in the know too. Players just don’t want to play here.

We have learned that ball-playing locks are extremely important to any team's attacking structure. Cam Murray, Isaaiah Yeo, Victor Radley & Jake Trobojevic are some of the best ball-playing locks atm. Asiata's ball playing skills is just as good as some of them - he can also play five-eight. I didn't quite understand why the Broncos weren't using him that much before he went down injured. However, I'm not surprised the Dogs are after him - obviously Gus sees something in him that Walters don't. That's why Gus is one of the great minds of our game.

Luke Brooks fits this mold.

I'd love to see if Brooks could handle lock. If he has the motor, he could be right up there. Or do we 'do a raiders' and have Simpkin start at 9, then move there (to lock) during the game, a la Hodgson, bringing Liddle on as the "Starling". I think an extra ball-player, that can defend, might be nice, in the middle.
