I think Josh Rizk was meant to be the next big thing by a lot on here but couldn't crack the Flegg team this year.

With us having such a great (undefeated) Flegg team we will definitely lose a few of them who weren't playing every week. Hopefully we hold onto the best ones

Paulo is at his peak now and would be 29 when he joins. It would be absolutely classic WTs signing a player who's at their most valuable so we can be locked in, paying big money as they begin to decline.

There's younger players who represent better value at positions we need more. It would be terrible business.

You'd have to think it's for next season. Eels choosing to bite the bullet and pick a player to lose to balance the squad.

If we've made an offer then that's with their blessing. Why would they let us talk to him 2 months early if it's just for 2023? No benefit for them

Yeah I wouldn't either ...was just replying to SeanT commenst that Payne Haas is the only 800 k prop in the NRL

Paulo has really talked up how much he loves Parra, now we get to see how much.

I realize its likely crap, but I would be stoked if we could get him for $850, aslong as its from next year. There arent many props that are genuine game changers however he is one of them. Aginst the Storm with about 15 to go the Eels were in their 10m on the 3rd tackle going nowhere, Storm were racing up and putting them on their backsides. Paulo took a hit up and made 15ms, Eels out of trouble. I remember thinking to myself we dont have anyone who can do that.

Huge body, surprisingly fit and probably the best offload in the game. Tell him the $850k offer is there but only if he comes for 2022. Get him to throw a tanty. I would love for the Eels to be on the recieving end of it for once.

No issue with that. Ryan Garner struggled to make the bench for Ryde and Rizk fell away too - think he got one run in Flegg this season and didn't put his best foot forward unfortunately. Again, we've got more talented players on the books to try and retain so hopefully that's where the focus is.
