Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Warriors halfback Chanel Harris-Tavita will test the market on November 1, with the club holding fire on offering him a new deal. The 22-year-old is off contract at the end of next season and under NRL rules he’s free to negotiate with other clubs on a deal for 2023 onwards from November 1.

I’m a fan of his , he would be worth pursuing

Woods said on triple M yesterday that something will be announced in a few weeks. Sounds like deal done and just waiting for the news of the coach staying/going to blow over.
I don’t think it would matter to him who’s coach.
He just really wants to come back to be a Tiger by the sounds of it.
He will add just as much off the field ( leadership and tigers passion ) than on the field which is needed.

His good is very average ?? His good is better than our blokes good

Yeah, which is very average. So perhaps he’s slightly better than very average, maybe Average +
?

Really, downvote for a joke (albeit a Dad joke)…. Please!

I think it’s a sad indictment of what this club has delivered to us over the past decade that people actually think Elliot is an option that would add value. Guy is bog average and was playing for one of the few teams going worse than us.

Disagree.

A bit of synergy to the South West which could be important for both club and player.

I am not sure how any of that qualifies his capability on the football field.
We struggled tremendously in defense this year, you may even agree that Luciano in particular was poor in defense this year.
Elliot played 6 less games than Luciano and had the same amount (52) of missed tackles as Luciano on the season.
For me, Elliot is not particularly big, not particularly fast, provides some workman like capability as a ball runner and isn’t a good defender.
Furthermore, he comes from another losing culture and does not demonstrate any leadership ability.
In fact you could argue he demonstrates the opposite.
Due to the above he would be our 5th best back rower next year in my estimations.
Hence, no value add.

If he does end up coming here, as long as it’s for the right price and not a long deal I don’t have an issue with it. As long as he’s coming to try and make the club better rather than coming here to be happy being a top 30 player like Packer, Mbye, etc.

Good ole Woodsy, why not hey?

Helium Luki still unsigned from what I can find.

Obviously need to balance experience and youth in the roster, though our experienced players are the ones that have let us down this year which means experience is good but has to be the right fit still

Woods Tamou

We don't need both.
Tamou will have to go.

You understand their are 30 players in a squad. Both brung more value to our squad then Packer, Amone, Musgrove did this year and neither is on big money like Packer (in fsct youd prob have both woth change from Packers mo ey)

Calling packer top 30 is generous

Top 30 is based on pay packet, so he was close to top 2.

No to Woods.

Why would we do him a favour and what’s in it for us?

I’m hearing crickets and deservedly so..

I think we used 31 in FG. On my scale he’s 31.

It wouldn't be a favour. He's better than most or guys.

It's about bettering the squad.

I would have said no until about a week ago, in the Chammas article last week he at least took responsibility for his actions and I have to give him credit for that. I think we need a more impactful forward than woods so I would still lean to not signing him.

Harry Grant hasn't put the club down since returning to the Storm. He was recently reported to have said he could see what Madge was trying to build and that it would all come together eventually for us. That's a pretty fair endorsement from a man who will be, if he isn't already, one of the game's best players.
