I want Harry Triguboff to buy the WT franchise and remove the existing Board, Chairperson and CEO. C'mon Harry, if you really love the Tigers, the time is NOW. Your mate Sheensy is back. Do it!!

OK, it wasn't really a signing suggestion. Sorry.

No thank you, I don't see much stability in an 88 year old owning the club.

If we dont sign another prominent front rower .. we risk the chance of loosing Stefano to another club .. Stef had a breakout season with us and was rewarded being called into the NSW SOO camp. Doing all the work upfront Stefo will risk burnout .. and also other clubs will come calling as he continues to rise. We need another prop to assist him up front, and help make his mind in wanting to stay.

Under these circumstances it would be wise to take on someone like Aaron Woods, who can take up some of the workload and offer experience to Stefano.

Do not need Woods teaching Stefano how to Flop!

Looked ok under Robinson. Maybe it's Barrett's style that didn't suit him. Stuart burns through half backs at every club he is at. Sometimes it's the coaching.

Ask the Brooks fans lol.

Mate Drew Hutchison looks alright at Roosters and that bloke is pure custard.

He wanted to and they wouldn't sell.

I worked for Meriton for about 5yrs and once asked him the same question and got the same answer, they wouldn't sell.

The story I heard was he would have agreed to buy the club if they'd given him 100% control. I.e. he didn't just want to contribute huge money, he wanted to run the footy business his own way.

The Wests and Balmain owners didn't want to become redundant. You can understand it, even if they were serial losers, they were financially stable enough to retain the club and didn't want to sell it off. Usually when a club gets sold to a private buyer, it's because the incumbent owners are insolvent and need to offload their assets (e.g. Newcastle, Manly, Souths). Whilst this was temporarily true of Balmain, it has never been true of Wests Ashfield - they are flush.

Found Gus’s article about us a good read up until a certain point - it was when he expressed that fast tracking our rebuild won’t help us meanwhile he’s doing this exact thing for the Dogs.
There also appears to be little knowledge (from a lot of pundits) about our junior pathways programs, as it’s often mentioned of late and usually advised every time.

In defence of Gus, he signed on for Bulldogs after they'd done all their recent signings?

Well colour me surprised.
Someone on here also shared his thoughts on the recent media attack on the Tigers and specifically Madge and its impact - the false reporting and reputational damage - so I now think he genuinely wants to see the Wests Tigers succeed.
I get the impression that a lot of people (whether they care to admit it or not) aside from the fans are sick of seeing us in a constant state of mediocrity and failure.

I think there are lots of fans who don't want the same sides to lose every year. Apart from being boring, it can be a little sad / infuriating to see the same old clubs struggling and the other well-heeled clubs coasting.

For example I have no issue whatsoever to see teams like Warriors and Cowboys do well. They are battler teams.

Interesting I always thought he didn't want the burden. You'd think it would make send to sell a 51 percent share to him.

I generally have an aversion to these cast offs. I dont see them as the way forward but I can see some merit in Scott (with all the necessary contract clauses), Sims and possibly Peachey.

Avoid at all costs Woods and Elliott

Thank you.........STOP bringing up Sharron.......... opportunity to be a respected clubman has long gone DONT need more retirement villages

I listened to Phil Gould and he commented at the right price he would be a good buy. With all those posts suggesting we lack leadership, well here is our chance to get some. Sheens would know better than anyone what value he could bring to our club.

Phil Gould is very biased, always has been, and everything he says suits his own personal agenda. I have no idea what his personal agenda is, but it's likely pointed towards Bulldogs, maybe Panthers, and definitely not Wests Tigers.

You could argue that WT missed a golden opportunity in attempting to recruit Phil Gould.
He LOVES the tigers, never played for them but always talks fondly of them and loves the nostalgia of the club.
It would of been a sweet justice for him to land at direct competitor to the Panthers and Ivan since they advised him his services are no longer required. I would of thought of all the opportunities, Warriors, Bulldogs or Us. Getting direct revenge on the Panthers by making the little cat roar louder in the West would of been a huge drive.
Well we’ll never know.

Loves the tigers? Lol we haven't been listening to the same things haha

‘Gould says he “loves” the Tigers and desperately wants to see the club succeed and return to NRL finals.’

Imo his words should be taken as worth as much as a single grain of salt.
Yes I agree with his attributed analysis of our situation, nothing new there, but he 'loves' us? Rubbish.

Nothing that was said in that article will assist us in pulling ourselves out of this mess.

I mean, hoops says he loves us too...

Yep, like Brutus loved Caesar!

He might want success now. not a 5 to 10 year rebuild. Imagine that demanding success now not promises about the future.
Agree though not sold on Harry running the club.

I don’t think it would matter who owns the club atm, there are not enough top level players to go around for the bottom clubs to pick up, because they already get good money and are always in the finals?

Getting either Elliot or Scott, or god forbid both, is a recruitment loss. We are not the club to turn rocks to diamonds. Doesn’t matter how much they’re making, they’re bad moves

I am sure Gus would be quite concerned about all the overs the dogs have paid to stitch together a squad for 2022.When it all unravels and they are underachieving look for Gus to do a fire sale of the overpaid players.I doubt he will rebuild the team in the same haphazard way of quick fixes like they have been doing over the last few years.

They desperately need a half and a hooker.

Luke Brooks & Jacob Liddle.

They could sign Lichaa again,we need Liddle.

That is too scary to contemplate.
Honestly I can't think of a worse move that Haslier made at the dogs then punting Ennis for Lichaa. (there were some bad moves there).

Ofcourse Ennis may have been paid 800-900k and not the 300k that was listed on paper. Clearly the 800k for Beastwood was worth it, not.

Two very different players and purposes.
Elliot is a forward utility. Popular and hardworking but really nothing too exciting. You would get Elliot if you wanted to raid the dogs. Josh Jackson won't be leaving and Corey HN isn't worth it. I don't think we care.

Scott (curtis?) Is a defensive center. We stuffed up, big time. We had Roberts and BJ and punted Momo.
Momo clearly had way more in the tank and learned a lot at Melbourne. We gave away the wrong player, Roberts may have been a better choice to send to Penrith. No idea if they would take BJ or how Leilua would feel about that.

Everyone disagrees with me and says "Hire Centers". I am only open to this if it is a defensive center. Yet we get nothing else out of Curtis then defense. We have two wingers, with faults who know how to get over the line. I feel that Curtis is a danger in that we get better defense but loose that attacking flow. Yet we have to get defense right, it is a team thing and IMHO we don't have the right trainers, culture, people. Curtis will help with this, but defense is a team thing.

I can also see Oliver Guildart going the same way as Momo!

I say no to both above.

I have concerns as to whether Sheens, Gildart and Hastings will arrive in time to prepare for the 2022 season. from Great Britain.

Excuse my ignorance, but when do we have to hit certain milestones in terms of contacted players (squad numbers)?

Can we wait until November 1? Sign players up for 2023 and potentially agitate for an early release (to fulfill squad requirements for 2022)?

I hope that doesn’t impact our premiership chances too much.
