I have concerns as to whether Sheens, Gildart and Hastings will arrive in time to prepare for the 2022 season. from Great Britain.

I'd imagine they'll arrive in time to get their quarantine done before the Christmas break. May be a little underdone, unless the two players do some preseason work with their old teams before jetting over, but both should be okay.

They will be here just in time to see Madge get the ass mid season

Charlie Staines in the same boat as Spencer both being forced out due to salary cap.

Pretty sure Riff let Sauce go due to having Staines on their books for a third of the price. Naden also leaving for the Dogs so I doubt Staines is being forced out. Having said that I honestly don't rate him at all, he goes missing in matches and in some is lucky to touch the ball more than a few times the entire match.

Yes to Spencer. Hell No to Staines

How can you accuse a 20 year of not having “kicked on” ?

Well..sticking with the facts..the "blow in" is about to move on in a week(maybe less!)..but regardless, Lenui appears surplus to requirements at Penrith, despite 35 NRL appearances to prove his merits??Ample opportunity to "kick on"one wld say...
Panthers think theyve got better
As I said,he still may evolve to be better than anything we have atm (apart from Stefano)...but with the truckload of $$ we have Id personally prefer someone more proven to be prised out of their contract.like other clubs seem to be able to achieve(particularly against WTs).
We can afford better than "bargain" maybes

Yeah sorry. The term kicking on doesn’t apply to 20 year olds. A lot players haven’t even debuted at that age.

Here’s my recruitment , sign burton to play 5/8 , Staines to play fullback , Procter to play backrower and Welch to play front row . The rest we have , or we can pick some others Up as up and comers .

I saw DT headline suggesting burton wants to stay

Penrith could field a 2nd team that would be stronger than half the NRL squads.
Hopefully the NRL HQ keeps an eye on their books in the near future, seems nobody wants to leave despite not getting a look-in for 1st grade. Doesn't add up IMO.

If Penrith release him he'll go to either us or the dogs. Right now, we're in the box seat.

any word on Staines?

His manager is asking a bit too much, it seems. There's not a lot of interest from anyone.

Who dares wins. Look at the Ponga acquisition.

What a difference 12 months makes. Compared to Ponga last year, this year no one wants Staines.

Not a fan of Flannagan at all to be honest. Even as an assistant at the dragons he didn't do much. Neil Henry as an attack coach is a good shout though.

Neil Henry is not qualified to tie Flanagans shoe laces. Flanagan is one of the best technical coaches in the game. Best signing we could make as an assistant.

No thanks - he is a cheat. Shouldn't be anywhere near the NRL - let alone kids in pathways.

I want Harry Triguboff to buy the WT franchise and remove the existing Board, Chairperson and CEO. C'mon Harry, if you really love the Tigers, the time is NOW. Your mate Sheensy is back. Do it!!

OK, it wasn't really a signing suggestion. Sorry.

He wanted to and they wouldn't sell.

I worked for Meriton for about 5yrs and once asked him the same question and got the same answer, they wouldn't sell.

Interesting I always thought he didn't want the burden. You'd think it would make send to sell a 51 percent share to him.

No - it was all or nothing. I can understand that.

The story I heard was he would have agreed to buy the club if they'd given him 100% control. I.e. he didn't just want to contribute huge money, he wanted to run the footy business his own way.

The Wests and Balmain owners didn't want to become redundant. You can understand it, even if they were serial losers, they were financially stable enough to retain the club and didn't want to sell it off. Usually when a club gets sold to a private buyer, it's because the incumbent owners are insolvent and need to offload their assets (e.g. Newcastle, Manly, Souths). Whilst this was temporarily true of Balmain, it has never been true of Wests Ashfield - they are flush.

Board doesn't draw a wage.

And if you paid them what they are worth .....

They still wouldn't draw a wage.

Hey! Obviously you don't read all posts.

By the way what does "Westst's?" mean.

You - whoever you are - do not have to worry about my life - whether it is miserable or not.
If you don't like my posts, don't read them. Simples Ace.

I agree. I like this forum but it has sunk to an extremely low negativity. We don't need negativity as Wests tigers supporters. Negativity spreads faster than COvid. How do you expect the players to improve if the supporters are continually negative.

The players should not give a toss. If they do, they aren’t cut out to be professional athletes.

Agree. I suppose it's to be expected given the underperformance of the football team, but it would be nice to talk about something positive about the club for a change.

I'm not expecting us to win the comp next year and probably won't make the 8, but that's no different to the last 10 years and I'm hopeful there are better days ahead.
