Especially not after the comments he made last week. When asked about his future he said it would be very hard to leave the success of Melb for a club like Dogs, Tigers and one other that escapes me. There was more said but that was the general conversation.

The review would have to had said that Tamou was a failure. He was signed to be the leader the team lacks, yet he did and said very little. When we needed someone to rally the squad he was quiet as a mouse. He may be a professional trainer, but that's not enough to be captain, or even in the 17. He's got to earn it.

There's about 4 or 5 roster spots available. Say for argument sake there's 4 then you have room for 3 of those you mentioned keeping 1 free for a possible mid season switch or upgrading of a lower tier contract.

the game needs characters. Brandon Smith, onfield and off-field, is a character. I don't think he'd entertain a switch to WT, but he would be unbelievable for us from a marketing and sponsorship perspective. I don't necessarily condone what he got up to on Mad Monday, but he's a player you can't help but love. his image has deservedly suffered from recent events but he'll be ok in the long run.

We have heaps of money. We have to be aiming much higher than these rejects. Throw coin at players available in 2023 and get them early, pay a fee if you have to. We've got more money than almost anyone else. Time to go hard. Hammer, Grant, Ponga, Brown, Leniu, Manu, who knows. Aim high and be aggressive.

Before last weeks game I posted that Smith was as an injury waiting to happen the way he plays- Storm probably win with him on the field . Whoever signs him for big money is taking a big risk.

absolutely. this year was his first full year in the top grade in his favoured position and he managed to keep a generational talent (Grant) out of the starting side and won hooker of the year. he's a million dollar player in waiting. whether or not he takes a cut to stay at Melbourne or gets the payday he deserves elsewhere remains to be seen.

I still feel his best position is lock however you're right to play hooker and keep Harry on the pine most of the season suggests you're doing something very right at 9.
