Have they announced Suli yet?

It’s not so much cap space or squad space but there will be a few extra guys miss out on making their week to week 17.

I thought young Tyrell Sloane was impressive and well worth an approach to the Dragons.

Well that’s the next step for them.
Extend; Sloane, Sullivan, Amone. I think they will.
Sloane will probably start fullback round 1 unless Lomax moves there. Sullivan and Amone will either play 14, 6 or 18th man rotating with MBye. The Fegai’s have competition with the above new recruits and there is also Cody Ramsey.

Keeping Sims and Recruiting Su’a you have Bird, Kerr, Ford and JDB all capable of backrow spots.

Whilst new recruit Molo probably goes straight in alongside Lawrie or JDB (if bird was to play lock) then that leaves Faumassuli, Kerr, Burgess, as front row depth.

Lots of depth / competition for spots.
Maybe some un happy campers, watch this space.

The Titans have a lot of junior talent from which to promote to the NRL. Full credit to that Club. Campbell is such an impressive footballer as well.

If we are honest with ourselves we are in some trouble... ALL of the bottom teams have improved there rosters for next year and we have done nothing at this stage (I like Hastings signing) .. Happy to play the long game as they say but this could back fire in a massive way and the powers at be night just regret not paying a little extra for a key player we missed on.. Fingers crossed it works out but I don't want to run into 2022 with a team full of youngest again. They cannot perform consistently for 25 rounds.. 😛ray:

Yep. Ever since they strengthened their ties with noted strong rugby league schools Keebra and Palm Beach Currumbin their junior strength has gone through the roof.
Can only hope our reconnection with St Gregg’s yields similar outcomes

Really comes down to does that talent step up to the NRL. Doesn't mean much otherwise. Remember Tony Costello ? Most promising junior comm bank medal winner in the late 80's?

Agreed, all the bottom eight teams are making big grounds in building their rosters..except for one. Okay our current top 17 will probably change a little between now and round one, but it’s very hard to see us being competitive in 2022. Our ability to attract players is our no1 downfall at present.

The published strategy for Maguire and the club has agreed to it is to get a few established NRL quality players to provide experience and leadership to the youth policy squad. If we cant recruit it with Maguire there surely he has to go next season some time. No good saying there is nothing there to sign when we have sat on our hands when players were available. If we dont / cant recruit that group of established NRL quality players for next season (2022) with a pot of some $1.6m it has to be on Maguire and WT have wasted another season without taking decisive action. That is the difference between successful at all cost clubs eg Roosters / Storm and us. Same as the continued prevarication over no performing high value players in Brooks and Nofo- those clubs would have shown them the door.

Maybe he's a player we have tabled an offer to.

He's got one year left on his contract, on 300k. Mostly featured off the bench, playing 10-20 mins a game and wants more. Panthers have reportedly admitted they might need to cut him loose and re-sign two youngsters on 150k instead.

He's very close to Blore, and also mates with Laurie and I think played junior reps with Stefano too.

He's quite attainable. Offer him 400-425 for the next two years with an option and get the boys to put in a good word. Then push for immediate release.

Don’t think “boys put in good words”. They all realise it’s a business. And any club that tells its players to get in the ears of opposition players are unprofessional.

I dont know if the club put him up to it, but didn't farah get in teddy's ear when he was tossing up between us and the raiders?
I think any advantage we can take to get someone here is a plus, we need all the help we can get

Tedesco went to him. Farah didn’t just talk him out of it, he had already regretted his decision.

Ok. I thought at the time (in the media) Farah went to convince him to stay. All good.

Yep that’s true paws , we should be happy that we have signed nobody at this stage , after all there is none worth signing apparently.So if it’s true that we waiting til Nov 1 to see if other clubs are under the pump from salary cap then that must be a good thing wouldn’t we think

We acquired Laurie and Blore in this manner. Both have turned out to be terrific acquisitions. I hope it is a similar young player of high quality, either a centre or second row forward.

Calling Blore terrific is a bit enthusiastic.

Outside of Blore’s debut when he bashed Brown, I haven’t seen much to get excited over.

He's a very good defender and once he has a halfback that doesnt just shovel a short pass to him at the line he might get more opportunities to do more with the ball.
