I’d like to think the players would support who ever won it and if were disappointed, they should work harder to win it next season. Culture problem if true which only reiterates what we already know.

I think his 'love' started out as a way of finding a viable alternative to the Sharks relocating, if a Sydney team had to move west. Maybe he hasn't realised that they are introducing a new team, rather than relocating an existing one, in BrisVegas at least. I'd like to think that they'd do the same in WA or NZ if/when a new team gets added to even the numbers up.

I noticed that he conveniently did not mention Cronulla as a possible team under pressure during new clubs coming into the NRL.

That wouldn't be allowed to happen with all the $ spent on the Woolooware Bay dev, current revamp of the Club and the large shopping mall next door. I think there may be another tower or two to be erected on the eastern side of the club. This is far greater than the NRL.

A large number of fans were outraged, so i've no doubt a few players were equally perplexed as to how Brooks was a co winner ahead of Doueihi. It's an incredibly poor decision that is the equivalent of just painting we accept and celebrate mediocrity on the front of every player's jersey.

Players have a very different mindset to fans. I’d be surprised if they cared. It’s not like there is a cash prize. And on the off chance they were upset, well then maybe they should have turned up more often. Maybe it will give them some fire for next year. Not counting on that though.

I'm always amazed by how everyone goes on about how much they hate journalists and how they're all vermin who make everything up, until one of them says something they want to hear (ie "Brooks is bad"). Honestly who gives a toss? The players are on holiday and in all likelihood couldn't give a monkey's about a stupid award at the end of a bad season. Rothfield has called one of his player manager contacts and asked for something he can report on while nothing's happening in the comp, and there are people on here who - apparently sincerely - want the Tigers to conduct a review into who won the participation trophy. Rothfield and his mates have you dancing on a string.

It's a shame we make the headlines due to agenda-setting in some quarters. 2 things here people:

1 - the story is written by Rothfield
2 - the so-called source is a player manager that manages a few Tigers players - as trustworthy as Rothfield or used car salesmen (apologies to any on this forum). The player manager probably said to one of the one players "I'm surprised Brooks won POY" and the player made a noise in reply which the manager took as agreeance. Then the manager embelishes that in convo to Buzz. All of a sudden, a story!

I'd love the day we create our own platform maybe called 'NRL Media Watch' and criticise everything about these journos based on hearsay & crap and see how they like it!

If we only signed players other clubs didn't care enough about to block their release everyone on here would be hopping mad about signing rejects and cast offs.
