Don't get why people need to crap on one of our promising rookies in Jake Simpkin all the time, let the kid develop and see how he goes. Clearly he's worth putting time into

This is quite ironic. As soon as you criticise players like Simpkin or Hastings, it’s seen as unfair. Yet for players like Brooks, Noffa and Liddle, it’s open slather. To the point where a lot of it gets personal. I’ve seen Brooks called an imp, Noffa is constantly referred to as Nofoalooza. But it’s the ones who criticise darlings like Simpkin and Hastings that get called out for being unfair and should rein it in. Classic double standards.

The Simpkin thing is the same as brooks and Liddle . People built up their expectations , and when reality didn’t meet their fairytale , they turned on the player . It was obvious from 2017 brooks was destined for above average first grade half eg. Matt Orford career . But nope because he’s not the next Andrew johns , then he’s somehow a reserve grader ??
Same thing for Liddle and Simpkin is headed that way as well . They evaluate them on what they want them to be rather than what they are .

Brooks is a very average first grade half. He's in the bottom 4 for me and is a major reason why we remain average. This has nothing to do with me wanting him to be the next Johns although, wouldn't that be nice? Seriously, wouldn't it be nice if he had even a slither of the skill of Johns? Mate I’m not interested sorry . If you can’t see the forest from the trees , that’s on you . I’m not debating it . People who do this stuff for a living agree with me , to varying degrees I’m sure , but in general . That’s good enough for me. I tend to go an electrician for electrical faults . Or a plumber for water issues . And I don’t assume I know more than either . That’s the last thing I’m going to say . I hope you have a good night .

So just because he gets picked, that means he should be picked? You never met a bad plumber? A bad electrician? Dare I say it... a bad NRL player? Because that's what you're implying and it's naive. I have watched Brooks play for 7 years. I don't need to engage in comparisons with other professions but I did it to entertain you. He is not good enough to justify to amount of games he's played in such an important position.

No player makes it to almost 200 games if they can’t justify it. They get get weeded out way way earlier. He’ll retire with over 250 games. He’ll surpass Farah’s all time games record for us if he finishes a one club player.

Hey Mate , understand what you are trying to say but NO ONE will ever do what Robbie could do in the next 50 years. He was a once in a generation player that was a WAY better hooker that Cam Smith. His stats back that up. Dont take my word for it, seriously check the SOO stats when they played against each other over all those years . Robbie comes out on top. However , everyone is so influenced by the media & the Queensland BS that Cameron Smith will be an immortal.All I will say is, if Robbie & Cameron had of swapped clubs , history would of been different. The simple fact is , we fail to really appreciate our own.

Ah… because there only 1 stat that truly matters the rest is fluff . That stat is wins and losses . And cam smith is better because he won more . I’m a Blue and love Farah and want him to one day coach the tigers , but your on one if you think that .

As always with Bennett it is all about self interest as he is at a club with nothing and starting from the cellar,i strongly doubt he would be making the same arguement if he was at Souffs or the donkeys where there is a pool of talent to pick from(his last 2 clubs).
I expect to hear a lot more from that fraud in the future about how the system could be made "fairer".

Bearing in mind this footage is from two years ago. At that time Josh Rizk was probably in front of Scolari as Liam had a rugby union background. I watched him in several Flegg games this year and he was one of the WT most consistent players - I'd have him ahead of William Kei who has the bigger reputation, but Scolari doesn't care about that - he just goes out there and gives 100% every game. There's no mucking about with his play, just gets the ball, leans forward and puts his foot down, he's just pure determination with his style of play and that's one thing that set our Flegg side apart - they had plenty of hard runners in the side.

I just read through the Q&A with Hooper on fox sports (I am aware he is a clown but good for a read)

But I tell you what, compared to pretty much all the other clubs we really are not looking good and no sign of us getting better unless we pull a rabbit out of the hat.. It just feels like we have been told to sit on the bench until all the other clubs are sorted and we can then pay overs for the remaining players. I know that sounds negative and I believe we have done a lot in the junior ranks but IMO it's looking ordinary..

I am just lost for words with all the money we have we have picked up Peachey (happy with that).

Before someone says this I was not expecting us to make announcements today or even this week as it takes times to get contracts signed off etc...

You'd have to remember Sivo would have 10-15kgs on Scolari.

He's not tiny, but he's certainly not big by any stretch of the imagiantion.

Agreed, and there aren’t too many wingers Thompson’s size that make in the NRL. Thompson is a 9/10 in all the other aspects of his game that make him a quality player.

I hope Scolari makes it, but he is going to have to be very very good to make up for the lack of size.
