Lomi Saukuru - 19-year-old Second-Rower. Wests SG Ball in 2021

Extremely surprising that we would feel the need to use development contracts on local juniors who are a long way off first grade in 2022 rather than players like Pole, Dillon, Scolari (who have played well in flegg and might be ready to step up soon) or prized recruits from outside the organisation.

Extremely surprising. Especially given they're all forwards.

Some players who have performed much stronger and higher bigger reputations don't get deals, yet these guys do?

O'Kane and Tumeth are good prospects, don't get me wrong, but it's a tad disappointing to see them be the one's given these special contracts.

I have heard Tumeth will push for a debut in 2022, not sure about the other 2 though.

Saukuru is the one I have high hopes for - this kid is a handful on the edges and was a regular try scorer for the magpies this season.

I saw more of Wests Harold Matts than SG Ball this year and his younger brother Solomone was the clear standout in that team.

Both supreme talents.

Yep, big, mobile and strong - I'm hoping they develop as well as many people hope.

The fact you have only one good player in the spine might be why you won’t be JAC’ster. When JMK is your first choice hooker, you got problems.

They are below the top 30?

But can play FG after a certain Round?

Have I got that right?

You're correct, normally about halfway through the season they can be picked for first grade without needing a special exemption

Yeah, I saw a lot of Solomone for Wests Harold Matts this year and he was a weapon.

Played lock but was one of the quickest players in the side despite being of a pretty stocky build like his brother.

Well another massive week for recruitment for us.... I can hardly stay still with the excitement it is generating between us fans and Sponsors..
Just got home from work to read the last 10 pages about all our junior players and that is very exciting and we have some real good ones coming through.. Its about the only thing we can really talk about until Sheen arrives and we start our recruitment drive..
On a side note its great to see Daine Laurie up and running around

Yeah, I saw a lot of Solomone for Wests Harold Matts this year and he was a weapon.

They're both pretty versatile but with their size will definitely be pushed into the forwards - good leg sped on them.

Good luck with Isaac Moses as his manager. There's some desperate people wanting Pearce let go and Brooks is part of the jigsaw. Will hold us to randsom for hodson until push comes to shove.

Yes I think if he can remain injury free he might be 1 centre spot wrapped up.. He not the best under the high ball on Wing but Centre he looks more comfortable.

Saukuru has ability but very unfit, mail is it’s day two of preseason and he is struggling to keep up big time, also heard another one of the train and trialist has done a lower leg
