Millionaires hey. No offense but that ain't really that hard today.

I think it's all glitz and glamour. People fall for it in all walks of life.

Still Cannot believe the NRL have not stepped in on the top clubs and recruitment.. Roosters for Example have Ex -players selling the club and how they look after you OFF the field and after playing career ends and we all know what that means.. Weekly Golf games, Assisting them in studying, memberships, and jobs after playing careers, etc.. but Clubs like us get ripped a new one for offering a club legend a job after he retires and was signed elsewhere to another club at the time.. Plus we get our Salary cap effected for 2 years..

I know I am salty about it and I am sure by the letter of the law there is a loop hole they slip through but as a league fan it just pisses me off and puts me off the game.
At the end of the day we would offer him 900k to 1mil but the Roosters will pick him up for 600k which doesn't add up to me.. As a player you might get a 10 year span to earn your money and just letting 300-400k a year go by is not true.. They have to be getting the difference elsewhere and some day someone is going to spill the beans and the NRL might actually do something.. Not holding my breath though
Don't get me wrong I do not blame the players at all and if I was a player getting offered this it would be hard to say NO.
Anyway back to dreaming about adding a quality Rep player to our team that the big clubs don't want :face_with_rolling_eyes:

Hs you are not salty... you call it as you see it & you speak the truth. It amazes me some of the Dumb a#ses on this forum really believe for example the Rorters are chosen because of "the culture" or " the way they are interested in your life" , "call you on the golf course" (like that wasnt set up). If the reason Smith gave were true,& it wasnt about money plus a paper bag, he would stay with Melbourne, who probably have a " culture" second to none.
Seriously, I would rather have players who want to be here because they love the club(ie the Robbie Farahs) than the highy paid prostit#tes like Smith ANYDAY! That anit love man!

Agree and for me I am off Smith now by his comments alone and the fact he only talks about the top level clubs with like 10+ rep players to help him win..
I cannot wait until we develop these young ones and start winning as I believe we are building the correct way and just need the right pieces to join.. E.g, Papailii

Makes me wonder why Tigers would throw their hat in the ring for Brandon Smith, when it’s obvious from the video that he’s going to Roosters, more embarrassment when we miss out

Brandon said that he was really impressed by the way the Roosters negotiations where kept quite, and not played out in the media like the Dolphins conducted their meeting with Smith.

Take not Lee keep your mouth shut or stay away from player signings.

How can he say it was kept quiet when everyone in the world knows he met with the Roosters and he's even been blabbing at length about it himself. If there's anything about the Cheese negotiations you can say with conviction, is that it is entirely being played out in the media.

Yeah, stuff him. Who needs a hypocrit anyway...
Unless he's coming...? ?

Honestly i am shocked that he’s allowed to address all this rumour, especially stating that he has already made up his mind even before his meeting with the Storm.

They've Mark Bouris on the Board...
We've got Denny Burgess.

You blame whatever you like. They've got one of the Best coaches in the history of the game, And are super professionally run - From the top down.

End of the day though, these blokes only get 1 crack at their career. I can't knock someone for choosing to chase success. People have different priorities.

A lot of fans slag off players for looking for more cash or success in their careers. I bet they don't look in the mirror and see if they are doing that in their own professional life.

Same old same old .. plays for less to go to a club who is a premiership chance. Might wash if he didn't already play with a club who is a premiership winning club. The players they want all get rewarded at the Roosters.
It will be interesting to see how BS copes with Sydney - very different environment to Melbourne in relation to NRL players and clearly he is a little loose.

Agreed.

He’s going to have eyes on him everywhere.

He’d be better off staying in Melbourne where they still refer to league as rugby because they’re clueless

He is a great player but really i don't think he has much between the ears off the field.

Roosters welcome to him. He is already on the way to joining the Roosters concussion club based on the game time already lost over the last few years. Storm are no doubt aware of this and is why Harry was always preferred.

the chooks' spine is about to become a cheat code

1 Tedesco
6 Keary
7 Walker
9 Smith
13 Radley
14 Watson

not to mention Manu, Crichton, Suaalii, Momirovski, Collins, SST etc. they are practically guaranteed to win a premiership within the next 3 years.
