I understand Paulo is an out and out gun but I what I can't wrap my head around is that if the rumours are true that we're willing to throw $800k at him but not say $600-650k for Luke Thompson. obviously different calibre of player but I thought Sheens didn't want to bend the cap out of shape by spending too much coin on front rowers?

Paulo would be a great pick up but could we really afford to have over 1.5m tied up in the front row. I’m a big believer that forwards win you matches but surely that is too much for two props, will be hard to balance the rest of the pack.

We would still have approx $1m to spend for 2022. We're already a weak squad, if we don't spend to our limit, well finish no higher than 15th. If promoting youth is our only option, 2022 will be worse than 2021 realistically.
