Hence why you'd get the dogs to pay 200k of his contract for the remainder.

I remember that. It was just after Hastings had told everyone where to be to set it all up and Liddle completely ignored him. We got lucky and got the ball back and Hastings gave him a gobful and rightly so.

Liddle doesn't seem to be playing for the team at the moment in his body language and demeanor

The fact that he has excess baggage for misdemeanors and injuries, 350k seems about the fig.
I wound have a club option in there though.
I've been watching as many replays as I could of Angus and determined he has a huge motor and footy smarts.
He and Papa would play big minutes.
If Hetherington was to come to us, he would be expected to do the same.

I think the blokes who are saying let brooks go for 500 and cut our loses are the same ones that were screaming when we were paying almost a million out of our cap to players playing for the opposition.
The idea of paying brooks 500,000 dollars to play against us is insane.

To me as long as your only paying it for 1 year it's not as insane as it sounds. But only if freeing up that other $500k is the difference between being definitely able to secure an Angus Crichton type as opposed to plodder like Aiken or Elliot in another position.

If Moses, Cleary, Munster, Cherry-Evans, even Hunt are all on $1M then I think something like $700k for a half like Brooks is the going rate. Compare that to what we paid Mbye and Reynolds it could even be considered a bargain.

Plus I reckon he could be open to an extension and renegotiate his pay to come back in line with that number for next year (plus say 2 more).

I'd love Doueihi as a strike right centre. Naden on the left (his preferred position). I think the powers that be are pulling together a balanced squad that could set us up for years to come.
