In the NFL players restructure deals to suit their club. Brooks would win a lot over by doing so.
Is there another forum ? Not on league unlimited ?10,000 times
sure Lawrence,well busted then. Traded,money 4 time .yet still put in.good peoples the Lawrences,salt of the earthLawrence did that after he realised that he was getting to much so he extended his contract and took a lesser amount per annum
Nah didn’t we sign a young guy, feledy?Think he might be talking about Koula. He's a gun.
Good luck to the kid, few boxes to tick yet before he takes on NRL, then we’ve probably got 50 games of education.I think he’s just only just turned 17.
Just had a look it needs another 10 years to build up10,000 times
What interview was this??Tim spoke for over 3 hours and was very generous with his time. Emma Lawrence was the interviewer. He spoke very well as usual but when asked about the Junior Reps he was quite positive & Young was the one mentioned. He did say they are starting to see more rugby school kids coming through to league (e.g. Illias to Souths and presumably others from schools like Joeys to WTs). He was particularly happy with the numbers that applied for Junior Reps this year across the board.
Made some interesting comments:
Anyway, probably haven't given the forum any new observations with this post. I did think he spoke impressively and positively (without rose coloured glasses) which gave me hope. There were no inappropriate stories and the ones he did tell were quite funny. He hung around after he finished to talk to people who went up and thanked him for the night.
- Prefers the term "supporter" to "fan" as fans blow from side to side!
- He views the ability to attack more important than defence (referenced 2005) with individual players;
- Whilst he may not always agree with the coach, he would never steamroll them with his views a la other clubs;
- He is not keen to risk AD come back this year ("knees are like wet cement") or others that have recently had knee issues such as Blore but the club will listen to the medicos about any clearance;
- Pretty sure Crichton was mentioned that WTs had had discussions but a lot of this can be their manager driving up prices with their existing club;
- Doesn't believe young talent should be asking for the inflated amounts their managers are seeking until they prove themselves into their mid-late 20s - I certainly got the impression he is not a fan (or should I say 'supporter') of quite of few of these managers!;
- Frustration pointed out around the timing of COE but certainly wasn't indicating that he thought it will change things overnight but a "nice to have" attracting future talent;
- The club does have a plan to get back to glory days - I must admit I wasn't clear exactly what that was but there were a few distractions in the room.
Certainly, he has his heart in the right place. He was asked how long he was going to stay at the club and he joked that it was a contract for 3 years but that it can be as short as one year these days or if all goes well hopefully extended.
pick a number between 4 n 7 pages ago.What interview was this??
The Sackville Hotel WTs week.What interview was this??
Include Buzz in that too, when he says..whether they like to admit it or not, The Wests Tigers are looking for another coach.If you listen to the way he speaks - The devil is in the detail....
There's a lot of They should, They could, They probably, I think, They'd wonder...
It's utter horseshit.
He admits it's an opinion piece - Then goes on to say his opinion means nothing.
Same as when Brent Read says, Tigers have the bye coming up and Will "probably" have a discussion around the coach then - And maybe decide to go in a different direction.
It's never "They've scheduled a meeting for the bye round" Nothing they say is definitive... Or substantial - It's all pure speculation, Or an opinion on what they think we should do.
They're all out there trying to control the narrative of the game....
All week they're all talking about how poor a run Souths and Storm are having with a couple injuries... We've had them all year and they're only just mentioning it in the last 2 weeks.
They're grubs - Who talk shit - We're easy targets and we sell the stories they peddle.
Yeah, I’ve been watching the games too,We’ve won 3/11. Stefano is coming back from a pretty bad ankle.
No he wouldn’t….In the NFL players restructure deals to suit their club. Brooks would win a lot over by doing so.
No he wouldn’t….
Brooks won his dally m on 550k a season, Moses took Parra to the spoon on 750k.
Truth is - the only time we read about numbers (no matter how close they are) is when someone decides they’re too much.
No one knows how Brooks deal has been structured and now we’re at the back end it’s inflated.
He may have had to take a hair cut earlier in the deal to help overpay everyone else…
That said, I’d be looking to extend him and re-work the numbers to get him in line with market value…
If he doesn’t want that - then it’s only another year. No different to all the guys we’ve been paying up till now to have input on the field.
. . . and the refs might give them leg-ups so blatant that Souths and Parra will feel like jilted loversThe NRL will require them to be a success so they will get their marquee players while we line up for more scraps
I'm sure Delroy will come up with something deep and spiritual today like "punt him".10,000 times
