I think that this is the right thread for this. Rumour has it that the extra $$$ is being used to front load next year's contracts, so we have more money to play with in '23. Another rumour was about paying some of Brook's contract for next season, to lessen the impact of paying him to play elsewhere, though someone said that we couldn't do that.

The rise in the age groups of Matts, Ball and Flegg has screwed over players like Feledy. Suddenly they're deemed too young for a competition like Flegg that he would 100% have played most of the season in a few years ago. Flegg should be u20s, otherwise there's this age group of 17-18 year olds who play 8 matches in a year.

I couldn't see Melbourne keeping Noffo unless he was highly subsidised. From what history has shown us, they spend big on the spine and not so much on outside backs. I think he'll be back.

Like you, I see him as past talent, but like a lot of other Tiger supporters we know what we would like, but realise its probably out of our reach, so we go for a lot of players that once were reasonable players, so we give them a lucrative 3 year contract hoping he might be good for one year or might squeeze two out of him or a bench player.
