Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The Butcher brothers who are both quality forwards in the prime of their careers both don’t make the Roosters top 13 at full strength and I don’t think they are being paid anywhere near what they are worth.
With the Roosters in a financial struggle to retain Suali, would be the perfect time to try and tempt these 2 with good offers.
Zac Lomax also is rumoured to want to play fullback and with a bit of unrest at the Dragons, could also be worth tempting him with the offer to play fullback on better money than he’s currently getting.

I thought we went hard after one of the Butcher boys last year. If they are on the cheap can’t see the Roosters letting them go for cap relief though.

Lomax has another few years on his deal zero chance the Dragons let him go + we technically can’t even start negotiations with him for I think 4yrs.

When players realise they can be getting paid 150k or more extra at another club and be given the starting position they want, it can initiate them to start causing enough unrest to make their current clubs consider releasing them from their contracts.
Although a club like the Roosters would not want to lose local juniors such as the Butcher brothers, they would have to be considered the least valuable of their top 17 in the forwards.
As for Lomax, I believe if Wests Tigers offered him 1 million per season and fullback spot, he’d be the type of person to make enough waves to do whatever it takes to get a release.
He’s a genuine match winner and I believe he’s worth 1 million per season playing fullback for us.
Wests Tigers have been victims of these type of negotiations many times, about time we get on the front foot and making players of value to us feel much more wanted and valued than they are at their current clubs.
I realise it’s against the rules, but it doesn’t seem to stop other clubs.

Morgan Knowles would be even better than Bateman. About to hit his peak, with the speed, size and toughness to make an impact in the NRL. Been the best forward in ESL for the last couple season imo.
playing very well though havent seen him on an edge before, only at lock.

Is that a sneaky pointer mate or just your own thoughts?

I would take Siro back as he has the ability to play edge and middle at this stage of his career. Knowles, Siro and maybe Lawrie gives us depth.

You do understand Jason Bateman is "Teen Wolf Too" yeah?
Or better known as Mallorys' brother..

John Bateman, However - plays a bit of Rugby League....
Yea sorry my brain was reading someone posting Jason Clark and I was thinking about John Bateman ex raider and I mixed the 2 . Maybe early onset dementia LOL

Its not a matter of WT saying we don't like Wests Ashfields involvement so we are selling the club. They don't have a say. Wests Ashfield owns Wests Tigers. The only way that changes is if they sell it or the NRL revokes the licence. Its like you telling your boss you don't like the way he runs his business so you are going to sell it.
Ok get your point but are Wests Ashfield actually the Western Suburbs Magpies Leagues Club ? And what about Wests Campbelltown are they owned by Wests Ashfield ?
Third question when you say owned is that like Souths are owned when the club was bought by Russell Crowe and Friend ?
Just trying to understand where the ultimate power resides ? Lee and Pascoe must report to someone !

They were originally setup to promote rugby league in the area - that included Wests Magpies football club. They once owned Wests Campbelltown but that club is now a seperate entity under the Wests Group which is not affiliated with Wests Ashfield. Campbelltown funds juniors in the Wests Macarthur competitions but no longer provides funds to Wests Tigers.

They own it as in they have a 90% share and Balmain has a 10% share in the club. Its a different model to Souths private ownership. They could however sell their share or any part of it to a buyer if they wished.

Pascoe as CEO is accountable to the Wests Tigers board. The board is made up of 5 Wests Ashfield board directors, 2 Balmain appointees and Lee Hag as Chairman. The Wests Tigers board could sack Lee and Pascoe if they wanted to. The only way the other 7 board members can be replaced is if they resign or are replaced by Wests Ashfield and Balmain.

So in essence Wests Ashfield board hold all the power and are pulling all the strings. And under their constitution its almost impossible to get voted off that board.

No to lomax for a mil. Apart from kicking hasn’t won too many games for the dragons. Was terrible at fullback when they gave him a chance after he renewed contract

The Wests Tigers is owned 90% by Wests magpies Pty. Wests Magpies Pty is made up of Wests Ashfield and the Western Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club. Though Wests Ashfield control the WSDRLFC as well.

The other 10% is owned by the Balmain District Rugby League Football Club.

The Wests Tigers board is made up of 8 directors.

Wests Ashfield have 4
WSDRLFC has 1
Balmain has 1
And 2 independent directors appointed by the rest of the board.

You have a different makeup of the board than what i put up. I got the info on the board from WT website but who knows how up to date that is.

And one of the 'independent' directors is a Balmain Tigers director.
The board is as messy as the rest of the place.

Yep, but good luck getting people to understand this

In my opinion they are dinosaurs clinging to the past
Just look at the levels
NRL team Wests Tigers
Nsw cup team Wests Magpies
Flegg team Wests Tigers
Ball Both tigers and magpies ?
I wouldn't mind betting that many hours spent arguing about team names Should be one club called Wests Tigers through every level .
To those at the top
" if you are not part of the SOLUTION you are part of the PROBLEM "
Its such a convoluted mess
From leagues clubs to football clubs to board to coaching to admin to players
And guess what -It Ain't working !

Nothing can be done at all about the board.
