Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Smart resiging Blore. We can get him at lowest possible price and unlike those on here the club knows all the details of 8njury risk, etc. He was starting backrower while still eligible for Flegg. Has talent, size and commitment just needed his body to catch up - in 12 months time he will cost a lot more but also 1 extra year doesn't waste much if worse happens.
Agreed. And if he does fulfill his potential, when this contract is up, he may feel loyal to the club that stuck by him and extended him when injured.

call me paranoid .but i thought Stains was the weak link in a media witch hunt, promoted to 1st Grd,fed the ball that side all game,to maybe ever live in the shadow.for his silence.got your lights on TSP,you;ld have the gos on that-if any

Try 450....
375 is the number I recall..for Peachy ,so if its a clean swap .a bit more than Kenny, who will be hard to dislodge.
Fb will be his target, but Laurie improves every week post Madge,so he mite be a challenge for Staines too
From what I saw at we,Staines isn't worth that $$...but Peachey is virtually worthless so a plus for WTs
Having said that, our goal sb to target established nrl players rather than fringe..weve got plenty of them

no way should we entertain taking Staines(LOL)with bigger fish off contract there next year

Great faith from Sheens and co. Blore had locked down the left edge starting job for 2022 before injury prior to the first trial of the year.

Only thing stopping him being a permanent fixture as a starter moving forward is health.

Extra year allows him to just focus on footy.

Blore plays and trains with an intensity like few others at the club, been his downfall injury wise but the kind of young guy this club needs more of. Leads through actions, commitment and won’t take a backwards step.

I remember reading 375 for Peachey as well, not that the Tele is always right.

The reason we are targeting fringe players is the fact that established ones don't want to come...

You can't beat experience and every team needs it.
I agree, a balanced team needs a strong representation of experience, provided it’s driven by other motivation. Peachey came to us with heaps of experience, so too did Nofa who had to be sent to Melbourne for behavioural modification.
If building a successful team was rocket science, we’d be asking whats that big cream coloured ball we see in the night sky? 😂 no, seriously, where I think it breaks down for us and some other teams is the drift away from task focussed evidence to making judgement calls based on a false perception of outcomes.

Laurie and Simpkin being selected in the PM's team may assist with recruitment. Laurie came as a fringe NRL player and Simpkin from Brisbane. It demonstrates that if you have the motivation and be given an opportunity, reward awaits. WTs can provide good young player stuck behind established NRL players an opportunity. That is a big selling point for WTs.

Staines is a very good trade if we get him. He's a bit wonky and overmatched physically, but he's looked grittier this year and also a little more reliable. Probably the weakest link on a very good backline, but he's a first grader.

Most importantly, he has speed and we're desperate for that. I think he does the other things well enough to make him a certain starter on our team.

I'd sign him on his current deal given upside and improvement this year. Given we get rid of Peachey in that deal, it's brilliant. A winger pairing of staines and ken/nofo has much better balance.

Plus, when we inevitably turn on him, how good is his name for insults? Unlimited potential there.
