Welsby would be a game changer for us! Let's hope so @tigerballs . Would be a better acquisition than Moses IMHO.Updated predicted WT starting lineup 2023
1.Staines
2.Tupou
3.Naden
4.AJ/TT
( out of this group, whoever can hold the ball the longest )
5.Nofo/T'oa
6.AD
7.Welsby
8.Leniu/Pole
9.Api
10.Klemmer/Stef
11.Papi
12.Blore
13.Jacko
14. Brooks
17.Joffa
Powerful, dominating forwards, big reasonably speedy backs, massive options in halves. Top 4.
I'm at least confident that will be our front row rotation. Is there any better?
The joint venture has an agreement with the NRL until 2099. For a long time the club has been known as the Wests Tigers and a lot of the fans today don’t give a shit about the former two clubs majority of todays fans wouldn’t know about the past 2 clubs or if they do they don’t care. They only know them as the Wests Tigers and would be essentially losing their team if either Wests or Balmain came back. What you’re proposing won’t happen.Just my observations over the years, nearly 77 now, but still find it hard to understand how most tiger supporters immediately accepted the new identity of the WestTigers, but the West Magpies where never so happy to Greet the Tiger side of things.
The committee at our club has always been in the control of WEST.
And as we all now know the Balmain name has always been looked down on by West supporters.
And now we find one side of the joint venture
( BALMAIN ) is now totally broke, from what we have been told.
And I cannot see how the NRL can keep Western Suburbs from totally taking full control when they are the only ones putting money into the team.
I hope all of the talk is just a diversion. Sounds pretty insane to attempt to bring Moses back. He’s not that great, would be asking for a lot of money and left the club in a poor fashion when he was last here. It is Sheens though, I guess..
Yeh right 😉🤔Lodge intends to re-sign with the roosters and willing to take a "pay cut" (DT)

Is this the same guy who just resigned with St Helens till end of 05?Anyone know who welsby manager is?
I was hoping we'd seen the end of this sort of rubbish. The West side of things have been pushing towards the return of WEST MAGPIES.
And they are getting closer to their main goal.
Which is to totally eliminate the Tiger,
And replace it with the Magpie.
I really can't see Welsby here but if by some Sheens miracle he did i'm pretty sure we would playing him at FB. AD to 7 Laurie to 6 and Staines to 2Updated predicted WT starting lineup 2023

I lament the demise of the Balmain Tigers as a club as much as you BUT as OP stated - the license has the name Wests Tigers enshrined. It can't be changed unless both entities give their license up.Just my observations over the years, nearly 77 now, but still find it hard to understand how most tiger supporters immediately accepted the new identity of the WestTigers, but the West Magpies where never so happy to Greet the Tiger side of things.

There is a small minority of magpie supporters who can't stand WT and they generally only follow wests magpies. There is also a small minority of balmain tiger diehards who refuse to embrace WT ( checkout a couple of the balmain tigers facebook pages ). I'm pretty sure most on here support WT even though the us Vs them pops up now and then. Most of that angst comes from how the club is perceived from other supporters and the media. Wests magpies will never be back in the NRL nor will Balmain.Just my observations over the years, nearly 77 now, but still find it hard to understand how most tiger supporters immediately accepted the new identity of the WestTigers, but the West Magpies where never so happy to Greet the Tiger side of things.

Hope you’re right 👍I look at those extensions as more squad fillers than first 17. Always need back up players.
One of them might have been if I won the $160 million last night🤣There is a small minority of magpie supporters who can't stand WT and they generally only follow wests magpies. Yes it is - and that is for the NRL side of things only. Wests Ashfield pickup any shortfall after the NRL allocation is used up. The NRL provide no funds whatsoever for NSW Cup.OMG I've been arguing that the WTFC is regarded as a fractured club and full of politics which in turn had hindered our recruitment of big stars in their prime and I suggested that the club makes a gesture showing unity by naming our reserve grade side same as our 1st grade side .I then read some of the posts on this thread and the memories thread and realize that feelings run deep and its worse than I thought . When the NRL allocate funds to the clubs I assume that money is Wests Tigers money ?
You could have bought one sides share from small change from that 😳One of them might have been if I won the $160 million last night🤣
Great point that's another thing they seem to be ok with, as long as it's not the Tigers doing the wheeling and dealing, iv been at it with Parra supporters all day on Facebook. They're all hypocrites, they still think they will make the gf next year, told them they're delusional, they kept saying Tigers were the basket case of the N.R.L. So I reminded them that Fitzgerald the week of the 2001 gf was in the media saying all up it was a 120 mil investment 12 mil a year for 10 years to get to that point. That was 20 years ago so who knows how much more has been spent since then. With bugger all to show for it. But were the basket case cause we won a comp in 05 about 600k under the cap.But they love peddling the "Newcastle desperately want Brooks" story 18 months before he was available
