When we signed Smith, i thought it was a backup for 6 and 7. Then people say he can't play till mid round. Others say it's to get an experienced player to lead the kids,in the cup side. Why would you fill a spot with a 30yr old player, if your looking at pathways ? Can someone explain the rational ?

That was 2 years ago, a lot has changed since, Brown is not the same physically now, otherwise Parra wouldn’t be shopping him around, especially after losing 3 back rowers.

I thought he was on too much dough there? isnt his culling a financial decision?

No one really had a good 2022 from us apart from Joffa and Hastings. But I hope he can improve next year.

Both Simpkin and Liddle were ordinary last year after showing promise early. Might be more to it.

The difference? We moved on a bunch of experienced players in favour of kids. It didn't work out and some of those kids would have found it tough.

I thought it was because all our reggies players were playing in first grade

You were stating an NRL player who plays very competently in the middle is not tough, youve now backtracked so thats fine I guess.

Junior Pauga joins North Sydney Bears. Bears are no longer affiliated with the Roosters, who will have their own NSW Cup side

They’re still somewhat affiliated with Roosters for this year, Roosters will have their own NSW Cup team but also provide some players here and there to the Bears.

Like how Bulldogs had their own NSW Cup side this year but were still affiliated with Mounties.

2023 will be the last year they are together, even though the Roosters will also bringing in their own NSW Cup team for 2023. Not clear how it is going to work, but Bears think the non selected NRL players will be playing for them in 2023.

depth is good,may be the hold up on Bateman-short contract?if its 3 years id be happy if he got homesick 1/2 way thru

I think the only way johnny will accept is with a 3 yr contract, bit of a gamble if its big money, if not then ok
